A partial remake of my earlier rearrangement of Frédéric Chopin's Revolutionary Etude, Op. 10 No. 12. 

A Sunday excercise where I laid down a bass part with the Jazz Bass Ultra on top of my earlier rearrangement. I played the electric piano part originally 2.5 years ago as midi in several takes. Also some midi note corrections and quantizations were made back then especially since the changing of the rhythm turned out to be more difficult for the left hand than I expected.. I'm not a pro bassist but it sure was fun playing this! I also didn't want the bass to steal all the attention from the keyboard part:)

"Synthetic Pain“ is not an ordinary song – it is a weapon, a mirror, a strike to the heart.
A voice, born artificial, sings the words I forged. It is cold, built from steel and code – yet it carries emotions that can only rise from a human abyss. Love that tears apart. Hate that poisons. Desire that can never be fulfilled.
Maybe you hate the machine because it sounds too real. Maybe you hate me for using it. Maybe you hate yourself for feeling what you never wanted to feel.
But maybe you love it for the same reason. Maybe in this synthetic voice you find something haunting – because it touches you even though it should not live.
The voice in “Synthetic Pain” was not sung by a human – it was created by me.
With ACE Studio I shaped a synthetic female voice, but every note, every melody line, every phrasing comes from my own hands. The AI only provides the vocal instrument, the raw material. Expression, dynamics, emotion – all of that comes from my design, my melody, my lyrics.
It is not random – it is craft. The machine only sings because I command it to breathe, to break, to whisper, to scream. Without me, it would remain silent, cold, and worthless.
„Synthetic Pain“ proves one thing: hate and love are twins, born from the same heartbeat. Artificial or real no longer matters – only the wound that remains.

Synthetic Pain

Rapture is a new collaboration between the Beating Edge and Joe Stroffolino, following the awesome Asteroids (The Original Was Better). Joe wrote both the lyrics and the original music, while the Beating Edge rearranged and recorded it in a punchy rock style, adding driving guitars, strong rhythm, and dynamic choruses. Vocals feature Tom on lead, with Joe and Mary contributing both backing vocals and lead parts on certain verses and the bridge, creating a layered and energetic vocal texture.
The song explores the absurdity and irony of doomsday prophecies, the obsession with the rapture, and the endless cycle of believers and false prophets. It blends satirical storytelling with a critical eye on human behavior, delivering a mix of humor, intensity, and thought-provoking commentary through energetic rock arrangements. 
Rapture is a track that engages both the mind and the ears, combining narrative, power, and fun in equal measure.

I don't quite believe in reincarnation of a single spirit although the discovery of DNA in a way sheds a bit of light on it being possible at least in potential code as traits that are passed on. They are either honed and retained or lost through long term positive or negative behavior and discernment of honest or dishonest action from our beings. Epigenetics looks to be starting to show that nurture, particulariy early in life actually enables and disables chemical signals in our genes. This has been shown in rats by a mother that licks her offspring vs a mother that doesn't and the different effects on those baby rats growing up and those scientists believe that translates to humans although they can't stick us in labs to prove it yet. So it looks like nurture may end up holding more influence then early geneticists told us and less is set in stone then we had previously thought. Epigenetics is a young science so it's difficult to make a solid reality from is so far but it does appear to have huge relevancy with our tendencies throughout life and towards addiction and habits. 

Whether we have a spirit that inhabits a body and fully comes back I'm not sure we will ever know that but I guess elements of past spirits and all past life does exist in our code at some level.

This has a lot more potential to bear fruit with our world of knowledge of course because we can actually teach ourselves what other humans think and have thought and what they did with their lives and make our own version of those truths based on our unique life experience.

This track is paying homage to Buddha

Buddha, as far as I am aware is one of the rare old teachers who said go find yourself and the power is inside you and around us. We generally escape the reality of ourselves with desires and indulgence in materialism but have the ability to find our true spiritual selves with discipline and an honest lifestyle. His main realisation was, we suffer, like it or not and his teachings allow us to not amplify that suffering with cravings or self harm but become one with it via a balanced approach  ⚖️  Re-living or re experiencing feelings from the difficult parts of our lives so they don't become a controlling factor in how we react to any situation seems to be central to finding that zen place where we can respond rationally to any situation no matter how trivial or significant. The reason I mention epigenetics and early life is a few scholars seem to allude to a lot of our problematic traits and strengths being born from trauma or solid nurture early in life and are not something we would usually medically consider when contemplating our own shadow searching for that oneness in ourselves...

So in that light I think rebirthing thought in our heads may actually be quite important to deal with any grief from our experience so it doesn't manifest itself as physical ailment from the hidden stress it causes us.

Another song from my revival  project.  
There was a time when I travelled quite a lot by ferry and on sunny days, I would get carried away by the sparkling sunlight in the water.   In many occasions, I just ended with some new lines (words or notes) in my head.   This composition was one of those which started that way.
