During the summer, Bed-Stuy becomes a party neighborhood.  Practically everyone is out barbecuing on the stoops with live dis & mcs celebrating late into the night (at club volumes). The atmosphere is great and thick with energy.  It can be exciting and stressful at the same time, especially on a Sunday afternoon when some want to relax.

This mix was created during one of those Sundays, and hopefully translate the moments as they happened. Noise coming from both the stoops and backyards of neighboring homes, with the scent of barbecue floating in the air, injecting me with high energy and a sense of tension.

In hindsight, it's obvious that this mix became a therapeutic process to own the moment versus fighting it.

Destronauts draw on a long history of DJ’ing (1997-present), specializing in drum n’ bass and headier house music sounds with DC’s renowned 2Tuff crew and residencies with Eighteenth Street Lounge in the beginning of the last decade. After a move to Italy to focus on production, and then a final relocation to Brooklyn, Destronauts officially formed as a duo exploring spacier electronic and indie rock sounds before settling on a house-rave style as a solo project.
