This one is a MASSIVE exclusive. If there's one album that's turned heads in the Boiler Room office more than any other this year, it's Sherwood at the Controls Vol. 1 1979-1984. The way Adrian Sherwood's visionary production finds common ground between post-punk (Shriekback, The Fall, The Slits), avant-funk and heavy reggae - with such advanced technique that he makes everything sound like a million dollars, and strangely futuristic despite being over three decades old. This unreleased track by bona fide Jamaican legend  Prince Far I  just proves the point.

Fadoul is no stranger to this so in his 40s he became interested in early hip hop, dub and reggae. he recorded an album with 10 tracks playing around with some instrumental works he had found and yet created another unique record. THIS GUY IS A LEGEND!

عندما يبلغ الموسيقيون عمرا متقدما بعض الشيء في غالب الأحيان يتخدون توجهات موسيقية جديدة. فضول لم يكن بالغريب عن هذه العادة حيث بدأ يهتم بثقافة الهيب هوب و الريغي عند بلوغه الأربعين. قام هذا الأخير بتسجيل ألبوم يتكون من 10 مقاطع مستعملا تسجيلات موسيقية كان قد وجدها من قبل و صنع منها تسجيل جديدا و نادر من نوعه. هذا الرجل بمثابة أسطورة. 
نشكر مهدي الذي باع لنا النسخة الوحيدة المعروفة من هذا الألبوم. سوف نقوم بإعادة إحيائها قريبا في هذه السنة.

This interview with Brian Eno was not originally intended to be made available for listening. It has been cleaned up and lightly edited, but has some external and peripheral sounds including some cell phone interference, chairs banging around and jack hammering street repairs! In the spirit of Eno himself, these "ambient" additions were left in for interview continuity. Eno and Peter Chilver’s regenerative music app "Bloom" was used for the bed behind the interview.

Jack Dangers is the composer and sound sculptor behind Meat Beat Manifesto. His constantly evolving musical invention has generated a long string of futuristic classics,”Psyche Out,” “Helter Skelter,” “Radio Babylon,” “Edge of No Control” and “It’s The Music". The single, “Prime Audio Soup,” from the Meat Beat Manifesto album Actual Sounds and Voices, was featured in the sci-fi fantasy blockbuster, The Matrix and on its platinum-selling soundtrack. An acknowledged innovator in the electronic music scene, Jack Dangers continues to stretch sonic boundaries, and influence new generations of sound activists. Dub Gabriel feat. Spaceape - Is This Revolution? (Jack Dangers Colonial Dub RMX)

Dub Gabriel is a music producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ based in San Francisco. He started his career 20 years ago in New York City, throwing warehouse parties in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which at the time was a little known area, but his parties helped lay down the groundwork for nightlife in the now Brooklyn mecca. NYC press was taking notice and soon after, he was being featured in such publications as Interview, New York Times, Time Out NY & Village Voice. This eventually led to some of the biggest clubs in NYC booking Dub Gabriel, at places such as The Limelight, Twilo, APT, Cielo, Tonic, Knitting Factory and others. 

In 2005, he was offered a residency at Goya in Berlin, located at the original location of the notorious Metropol club & was built in a turn of the century opera house that survived two world wars. While living in Berlin, he toured continuously through Europe playing everywhere from anarchist squats to mega-festivals. 

In 2007, Dub Gabriel moved back to the States to San Francisco and in the following year he established his record label, Destroy All Concepts, a genre-defying label that was designed to be the home for various projects of Gabriel’s collaborations and productions. Highlight of guests include reggae legends, U-Roy, Ranking Joe & Brother Culture. Also, U.K. Dubstep pioneers, The Spaceape & Warrior Queen. And, world music giants, Master Musicians of Jajouka & Balkan Beat Box, as well as members of rock’s elite including Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Michael Stipe of R.E.M., David J of Bauhaus/Love & Rockets and Golgol Bordello vocalist/percussionist, Pedro Erazo. 

His albums have all been critic’s picks in the music press. Dangerous Minds says “Gabriel showing ultimate respect for the dubwise tradition as he seeks to launch it deep into this new century.” Billboard compared him to Brian Eno, XLR8R called his albums a “Philosophical Masterpiece” & Paste called it a “Kubrickian Soundtrack For Future Societies”. 

Besides his love for the studio, Dub Gabriel still finds time to keep an active touring schedule throughout North America, Europe and Asia. He has performed at such festivals as Outside Lands in California, Shambahala Music Festival in British Columbia and Fusion Festival in Germany to name a few.
