"'Distances' is my most personal release to date. It was inspired by a time several years ago when my wife had to move to another city for work, and we were separated for the first time in our relationship. The tracks chart the emotions I felt at the initial separation, the feelings of fondness growing in her absence, the apprehension towards the end of her time away and finally the feeling of being reunited." Those are the words Hex has to say about this 4-track EP and throughout this project, it's clear to hear the passion and care that has gone into every piece.

'Distances' kicks off the project, with a melancholy piano hook dancing around a playful bassline, resulting in a fresh, organic slice of liquid. This is followed by 'Absence (Fonder)' which lets guitar hooks played by Hex himself take centre stage amongst a two-step beat and a bouncy bassline. 'Apprehension' is up next, in which a hypnotising piano hook carries the track forward for a piece which conveys how less can often be more. The EP is rounded up by 'Her Touch', an autonomic, atmospheric piece which brings together the sound palettes throughout the EP and wraps it up to make a beautifully cohesive body of work.

"I've tried hard to put something of myself into these compositions and make them sound unique in small ways. Some of the sounds across the EP have been recorded personally, including guitar, spoken word, foley sound and thumb piano, and most of the remaining melodies have been played rather than sampled. I'm proud of these pieces of music and I hope they speak to listeners in the same way they speak to me." - Hex.

Kate Savage is one of the newest powerhouse to hit the NSW scene in 2022. Dubbed as one of the most dynamic and fierce drum and bass DJs in recent times, she has already made her mark on the Sydney party circuit. She has brought the house down at events such as Cabin Fever Crew's Bass Ship, Just Peachy, Haunted Fever, Jungle Jam, Laneway Party, Rinse Out, and many more, with her sound being more explosive than a stick of dynamite.

Kate hosts Savage Sessions on Bondi Radio and has been a guest on the Cabin Fever Sessions on Sydney's Orbital Radio and Brisbane's Drum & B4ZZZ Show. With roots in London, she has witnessed firsthand the evolution of rave and hardcore into jungle and DNB, and has spent her weekends at some of the most legendary club nights headlined by top DJs such as Bukem, Fabio & Grooverider, from Astoria and Camden Palace to Fantazia to Notting Hill Carnival.

When Kate takes over the decks, you better buckle up because there's no stopping the madness. Her sets are high energy and electrifying, and you'll feel the contagiousness of her sound in every bone of your body. With influences from the UK, her style ranges from MC's, jump up, jungle, bootlegs, rollers, and drops, just to name a few.

Section expands the already diverse sonic range of the label by pairing soundscapes from the genesis of the genre with production techniques taken from the present day.

Old High continues to explore brooding soundscapes and twisted breaks. Layered kicks, 808s, and bass stabs produce a weighty and hypnotic head-bobbing rhythm reminiscent of early Metalheadz and Renegade Hardware releases.

Ink's storied Architecture Recordings imprint steps back into the fray with a new addition to the family. UK artist Cymatix prepares to take his place among Architecture's celebrated  (EP) catalog.

The EP sets the mood with eerie keys and skittering breaks, setting up a monstrous  dub and dancehall bass line approach that takes over while expertly layered breaks and combinations give the EP a pulsing energy without losing any of its spacious foot print.

Hair raising atmospherics and night time nature sounds preside over the project upping the overall darkness of the mood and music presented. Morphed riffs and percussive elements progress throughout the EP echoing the sonic lineage of the The End’s (London UK nightclub/RH) dance floor heritage.

With this project Cymatix establishes himself  as an  artist to keep a keen eye on from the long standing Drum & Bass hot beds of West London.
