I've been trying to challenge myself musically the past couple days with this track.
I've never been a fan of sampling from records, but I decided to try it. It was REALLY hard and I had a lot of fun!
I wanted this song to revolve around one melody, I didn't expect it to be the bassline, but the bassline came out really catchy so I decided to go with that. Which worked out even better because I wanted the song to have a weird wild-west/country/blues/bar-song vibe to it (hence the stomping in the beginning) because the samples I used are from a Willie Nelson record so I wanted to pay a little bit of tribute to that with the crunchy, overdriven, pentatonic-based bassline.
