boxofbox is a artist/scientist/engineer based in Durham, NC; a recovering academic, now working in audio software engineering and cutting-edge digital signal processing. Originally from Seattle, boxofbox has been a long-time participant in the US/EU underground rave scene, known for their predilection for genre-slippy, psychedelic, queer-leaning sonics, and a habit of longish sets/mixes. You can frequently find them in the form of a tender and weird light in chatty internet corners or as a sweat-drenched, grinning pumpkin, smack dab in the middle of the closest dancefloor.

Coming of Age is the debut EP from Oscar Celedon, the Santa Marta, Colombia native who has made a name for himself on DETOUR’s home turf slinging Caribbean-influenced rhythms and psychedelic melodic musings via productions and DJ sets aimed at inducing deep groove hypnosis. Across Coming of Age’s four tracks, Oscar paints with the palette of contemporary continental Techno. Sonic elements weave amongst each other to form a minimalist web hung from the high reaches of a cavern sporting 4 corners of massive sound. ‘Nirider’ sets the scene for the long night ahead with deliberate and deftly measured drums underlying a wire-taut synth. ‘Transitions’ send/return dub ethic loops into the nebulous space where Techno and House meet. ‘Pulse’ floods the zone with buzzing pads and a dread sawblade lead while ‘The DJ That Always Carries a USB’ brings the EP to its energetic peak with spiraling surround sound synths and stripped Caribbean drums. Reach for Coming of Age to build your night or set it off into space.

Hailing from Santa Marta, Colombia and based in Pittsburgh, PA.  Oscar Celedon is a recording artist focusing on deep grooving techno and house selections. Influenced by the Caribbean flavors of their upbringing, we can expect percussive and pumping drums paired with psychedelic melodical rhythms.
