Sooo, it's summer apparently, and I just remembered I made this very summery remix two years ago and never 'finished it' but just listened and it's finished enough.
Well, I thought I'd share it.
It's a remix of the most notorious Australian permaculture-oriented electro ukelele outfit, Formidable Vegetable Sound System.
These guys were literally my introduction to permaculture, which I only realised a couple years after I first saw them.
They released the stems for their album "Permaculture: A Rhymers Manual", and here is what I did with it.

Detrivore & Samurai Breaks - Achoo Riddim

So here it is, Detricast #2, an ambient/chill mix to help relax and ideally uplift you during this dreary season.
It's melancholy and dark at times, but hopefully the glimmers of light shine through and massage the annual depression many of us find ourselves privy to, rather than reinforce it.

I decided not to talk over this mix and let you enjoy it (although I could talk at length about all of the musicians included). I wanted it to be something you can chuck on in the background and set a mood, as I increasingly find myself searching for similar.

I compiled it using Ableton, which is the first time I've done this for a mix, and I think it worked well for the style. I blended the songs with effects and sounds/textures I gathered to try to give it a cohesive feel.

I wholeheartedly hope that you enjoy this mix and that it embellishes your winter somewhat.

DETRICAST #2: Winter Chill Mix [Free DL]

"A collab with a good friend at the time, and a meeting of minds that I'm really happy with the result of. It was a fun one to make and grew so organically. The idea started with something vaguely African. We found a vocal and went from there. What developed was a scenic audio tour starting with a walk through an African village in the morning, then a drive through a more cosmopolitan area of town at rush hour, then resolving in the evening, perhaps by a river, watching the sunset. It's the most visually graphic track I've ever worked on and being quite a visual person it might be why I like it so much. And Arkistrate's ability to generate sounds really enhanced the track, him making all the noises that sound like birds and other creatures from nothing. 
The name came from me showing him the snare in Metallica's 'Saint Anger' and where the video was paused it trimmed the word down to 'letallic'. Dunno why we found that significant but clearly we did..."

"Began as a collaboration with an unnamed ghost. The vocal you can hear was the result of (years of) trying to extract a clip from a David Attenborough episode that describes Detrivores super poetically. Every time I've tried to something has gone wrong, and this time instead of audio from the episode I was left with code being read by a Scottish women's text-to-speech voice...so although unintentionally created it was a good instigator to get a track going. The contrast between seemingly organic and digital sounds is very much what I'm about, and I think gives the feel of a swamp on some alien planet. The name was the only one I struggled with, and ended up settling on this as a joke with some Americans whilst traveling about the way they say internet and the internet being a rudimentary form of telepathy."

This Spring mix is for all of you tortured souls in more northern regions who are emerging out of the darkness into a brighter frame of mind; experiencing a season of new growth, which is often challenging but births innocense and beauty - I hope this mix captures that mood.

Sorry to my loyal and dedicated fans that I didn't manage to bring this out last month, but better late than never!
Working in Guatemala was incredible, and it understandably took all my focus.
I've included a piece of music I made whilst there, for a VR experience I was tasked with creating to promote The Solreign School of Potential. It was the first piece of music I had made in two months and I was really happy with the vibe it represents!
This mix also features a bunch of good friends, who's creativity I'm very happy to share with y'all.

Bermuda born, Britain bred wanderer Detrivore takes things up a notch with this intricate 140 BPM workout.

Sadie and I finally met last year after being 'musical pen-pals' of sorts for many moons. We did our first colab for the 30k Leg compilation and she also featured on the Jewels Remix EP.

Personally I think this remix really embodies everything I love about Detrivore's style. The production is complex and technical while at the same time it has a certain playfulness and danceability.

Hey there!

So here's a mix I put together for my morning Qi Gong (Chinese moving mediation) practice and sitting meditation. It was made to pace the routine and set me in the right flow for the day, and includes ambient/binaural stuff from some artists I love, as well as some songs I love to have a lil dance to and that make me smile (including a track of my own lol)

It's been doing the trick, so I thought I'd share ^_^

Out Of Tune (Detrivore Remix)

I've had the pleasure of being part of yet another wonderful @rendahmag beat cypher, this month curated by the formidable @renraku .
Had fun with this one, somewhat returning to my 136bpm garagey/grimey roots, but with the many new skillz I've acquired over the past few years. The ending is also the most dubsteppy thing I've ever made, so there's that too.
