Joining us for Tapes #122 is Minor Science, the Berlin-based Brit who consistently cuts through the noise and has been making standout tracks for almost a decade.

As a DJ, Minor Science draws on years of experience to craft sets that are controlled in form and bold in content. Having performed at venues as diverse as Panorama Bar and the Bang Face Weekender, the average Minor Science set can do heads-down mindwarp, maximalist rave meltdown, or (often) both. 

Minor Science has presented his Absent Friends live show at events such as Intonal and Maerzmusik. Emotive and absorbing, these performances explore themes of psychedelia and togetherness via improvised performance and deft four-deck mixing.

Was asked by @superjuice2point1 to do a set for the 2nd Net Label Night stream event that focuses on one specific label and so I decided to go with the excellent Mutant Bass Records, originally started by Kanji Kinetic and more recently rebooted and overseen by Sample Junkie.

I admit to there being glaring omissions here - it was hard to cram everything I wanted to play into 45 mins as well as namecheck all the important people (my original attempt at this set was an hour long and I had to cut it down!), but I think it's a decent attempt at chronicling some of the label's fantastic output from both the early days and the reboot.

So here's a mix I put together for my morning Qi Gong (Chinese moving mediation) practice and sitting meditation. It was made to pace the routine and set me in the right flow for the day, and includes ambient/binaural stuff from some artists I love, as well as some songs I love to have a lil dance to and that make me smile (including a track of my own lol)

It's been doing the trick, so I thought I'd share ^_^
