On September 4th and 5th 2020,  the 8th edition of the Freedom Sounds Festival should have taken place in Cologne, Germany.. But due to the Coronavirus pandemic, like all other live entertainment worldwide the two-day festival was cancelled. 

We (Maroon Town) were due to play the festival for the third time and were hugely disappointed that it was not to go ahead, having loved performing at the festival on two previous occasions. 

To try and make up for the loss of this memorable festival, Peter Clemm, one of the three organisers of the festival agreed to have a chat with me over Zoom about what the festival means to him, talk about some of the bands who were due to perform as well as playing some of their music. 

Peter, a life long music lover has only ever chosen bands to perform at all the Freedom Sounds festivals that he feels a real affinity to. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I have only been able to play a selection of music from those bands who were due to perform on the 4th and 5th of September. 

As someone who who has devoted much of his life to playing live, I want to give respect and credit to Peter who is someone who ensures that, musicians and bands like myself have fantastic festivals to go to and perform at.
