Black Marble Collective is excited for our first release of 2023! Dev79 is a well seasoned Producer/DJ who has graced us with a new single that flexes frantic and catchy 160 bpm bass music beats. This single is a preview of the forthcoming Dev79 album “Engaging In Risky Behavior” and if these two tracks are an indicator then we’re in for some wild audio adventures on the album!

“Shake That” takes influence from Bmore Club and Footwork rhythms alongside tweaked out analog synths and catchy original vocal samples. The impetus for this track was born out of a random collab session when Kenny99 was crashing at Dev79’s house after a Deftones show. The result is a vibe that's fun, heady and dancey all at once.

The VIP Mix of “Fête de la Guerre” is an alternate version of the track that will appear on the upcoming album. An ambient intro gives forth to big bassy emotive synths and driving drums that you can’t help but nod to before a dark piano breakdown eases you out.

DEV79 BIO
Dev79 is one of the baddest of the badmon. A Philadelphia bred artist who relocated to Los Angeles to soak up some west coast vibes. The sun and mezcal must be doing him right cuz these latest tracks are fire!

An OG in the game, Dev79 is a producer/DJ with roots in grime, street bass, jungle, and ghettotech. He effortlessly weaves elements from a plethora of music styles into a tapestry of urban bass music. Dev79 co-owns the Slit Jockey, Seclusiasis and 160 Philly imprints as well as appearing on labels such as Lucky Beard, Saturate!, Forbidden Trax, and Juke Bounce Werk among others.

The 79 sounds have seen featured coverage in XLR8R, Mixmag, FACT, Complex, The Untz, and URB Magazine to name a few. With his ruckus DJ sets, Dev79 has shared the stage with acts such as Ivy Lab, G Jones, Suzi Analogue, RP Boo, Eprom, Spinscott, and DJ Paypal.


KENNY99 BIO 
Kenny Fisher aka KENNY99 is a decorated student of the arts. From member of the Baltimore Ravens Marching Band to drummer for a metal group to producer/DJ, rhythm is in his soul. Kenny99 has released on labels such as Seclusiasis, Funktrap, Certified and shared stages with DJ Champion, Doctor Jeep, D Double E, TT the Artist and more. Currently residing in Brooklyn NY and focusing on dark techy beats this is a name to look out for.

Following Mojo Goro’s “The Thirst” EP on Slit Jockey Records last year we’ve got another slice of dark and mysterious vibes from the rising artist. Eerie and spacious grime sounds permeate the original songs on White Dove, and while there are clear influences here it is also a very exploratory and unique sound that he is developing. 

Bulgaria’s Mojo Goro has recently relocated to Germany & we’ll be celebrating White Dove with a release party in Berlin on March 25th. Mojo has a handful of EPs under his belt on imprints such as Classical Trax, WTF Is Swag, and Myth-O-Lodge, as well as receiving coverage on Get Some UK, The Dankles, Future Classics, Rinse FM, EDM Network, Radar Radio, Booms & Claps and others. 

Each remixer here took a distinct stance. Bios is a Germany based producer better known as the label head of the popular Saturate! Records and he recently released his artist debut on Slit Jockey.  NY’s Copout has been bringing his hypnotic riddims to labels such as Liminal Sounds, Freshmore, Paradisiaca, and WDIS. Dev79 & El Carnicero amp up the vibe with their remix packed full of chopped breaks and pounding energy.

Slit Jockey Records has been painting a passionate and articulate view of grime and grime influenced bass music since 2005. The label is operated by Starkey, Dev79 and El Carnicero. Released artists such as Conrank, J Beatz, Mr. Mitch, MIK, Doshy, Trim,
