Mike Morrisey returns to Zest with a standout EP made up of two varied original tracks, with remixes from Dafs and Simone Ellis. A message from Mike..

'The two originals seem to seamlessly incorporate my signature sound with a more stripped-back, Zest-influenced vibe about them. Subtle percussion grooves laced with energetic low ends have proven to be a hit in the clubs in the run up to release, already gathering huge support from the best of the best, and on some of the biggest club and festival stages in the game. I've really enjoyed seeing the release come to life and can't wait to share it with everyone on my imprint, Zest Records.

The first remix comes from London-based producer and friend of mine, Dafs. One of the most naturally talented musicians I've come across in all my time as a DJ, Producer and student of Music.  A multi-genre production wizard and a serious selector too, it was only right I got him involved and he didn't disappoint. Expect high-energy synths and a low end that will shake any room when played on a big system. A true credit to the release.

Secondly, It's my pleasure entirely to welcome another friend of mine to the label, Simone Ellis. From the moment I first heard Simone's music a few years ago, it was very clear to me that she had something special. Another true musical talent and without a doubt one of my favourite producers with a massive career ahead of her. I asked Simone to round off my EP with a remix in her style and the result was exactly what i'd hoped it would be.'

Following up on its six-part ‘Tripleution’ V/A series from last year, the label now launches a new series that offers a bumper selection of irresistible beats perfect for all hours of the night.  Rising star Emery (CH) opens up the release with 'Keep It Cool', a characterful cut with bristling breaks and piano stabs laced through the mix as clipped vocals and balmy pads bring warmth to the old-school motifs. Kinhaa's 'Metal Elvis' is a steely number where dry hits and twanging synths make for a futuristic groove, complete with a brilliantly melodic bassline and playful horns. Next up, BizZa’s 'Real Dancing' is low down and dirty with a dubby bassline and squelchy acid sounds topped with loose percussion that makes you want to move.   A three-way collab between Marian, Yolanda Be Cool & Fast Eddie means 'Side To Side' is an arresting tribal house jam drawing for funky Afro drum patterns designed to pump the party. Gustaff's 'Caligula' pairs things back with fizzing synth stabs lighting up the bouncing groove. There is a raw filth in the bassline that roams beneath the crisp kicks and hits of Mariano Lunadei's twitchy 'Work That Body' before Mene's 'Cuttin 1000' adopts a high-speed house sound with edgy synths and warped vocals adding plenty of unhinged character for freely late night floors. Rounding out the V/A, Timid Boy & Frankov's 'Holograma' is a shuffling tech house beat fusing vocal fragments and laser-like synths shooting over the smooth, chord-laced grooves.
