Autonomous Morphism - Mixed by Deviant Nature

Deviant Nature was established in 2005 on the UK's South East coast as a project focusing primarily on drum n bass. Jay had previously started learning to mix in 1996 (initially with drum n bass, then hard house / Nrg and techno) and began trying to produce these genres from 1999.  He was involved with a free party sound system for a few years around the early to mid 2000's and played as one of the Bio-Tech Dj's and Dj Phrantik. Although the Bio-Tech sound system was mainly techno (acid, hard etc) other genres were also played - from breaks to oldskool (90's) hardcore to banging house / Nrg & hard trance. Around 2003 / 04  Jay was drawn to expand his vinyl collection with the emerging techier and liquid funk sounds of drum & bass, and making D&B mix CD's. In 2005, one of the promoters from a local drum n bass event (S:B:I) heard a mix called Mood Swing and offered Jay a set, this prompted the need for a separate, DnB specific alias; Deviant Nature was born. This was followed by a residency which spanned roughly 2006 to 2011. At the same time, Jay was also running his own small Techno, Nrg and Hardcore events. Fast forward to now, Deviant Nature returns with some freshly cooked D&B for 2026.
