Since streaming regularly on Twitch about this time last year I have been very bad at recording "studio" mixes, as most of my time mixing was live. A recording of DJ Clarky on Eruption 101.3 FM from 17th August 1996 - in the midst of ‘The Blue Note era’. Clarky worked at Black Market Records, which became BM Soho, and also played at the Metalheadz Blue Note sunday sessions in the mid 90s. He played across the board from chilled atmospheric to raw tech step and this set is exactly that - There are a couple of Dillinja tracks on here I didn’t immediately recognise, so perhaps some unreleased stuff on here? the tape was recorded and passed on to me by my friend @robbrie aka Rob Phokus whom I’ve known since the early drumfunk years and has been a big part in the runnings of Scientific Wax. He sent me a load of amazing recordings so look out for those coming very soon on 0860.fm. Big up Rob!

Law - Repertoire Excursion 55 [25-10-23]

A collaboration of two friends: Matic and Trisector aiming to create music that brings together elements they love about drum & bass and techno. For the last few years they have been exploring the deeper and more experimental side of the 170 spectrum in their Helsinki-based studio, in their DJ sets, and on their monthly IDA Radio show - Harmaa. Out Of Fuel's sound is a combination of influences one you could say is constantly changing. At the moment it can be described as a blend of deeper drum and bass, hypnotic techno, smoky dub, shoegaze influenced textures spiced with tight percussions, heavy bass and occasionally dirty breakbeats.

Their debut LP - entitled Geometric Landscapes will be released in November 2023 on Finnish label Straight Up Breakbeat. It explores these concepts to their extent, in long form format, with 9 carefully crafted and polished tracks. In their DJ sets they love to drop a bass heavy selection of deep, dark, dubby, hypnotic and atmospheric drum & bass. You can expect to hear anything from classics and hidden gems to fresh and unreleased cuts, as well as  stripped down rollers and halftime steppers to chopped breakbeat action and in-your-face technoid percussion onslaught.
