Xabier Iriondo, from AFTERHOURS, Pierpaolo Capovilla and Franz Valente, from IL TEATRO DEGLI ORRORI, along with Eugene S.Robinson, from OXBOW, made a brand new musical project together, called BUNUEL. Just like the Mexican director.

Its debut album is going to be published by La Tempesta International and distributed by Good Fellas, Italy, in January 2016.

Mixed and mastered by Giulio Ragno Favero at Lignum Studio, Padova, Italy, "A Resting Place for Strangers" is an album launched quickly, completely and thoroughly within 72 hours: all instrumental parts at La Sauna Recording Studio, near Varese, Italy, and all vocals at Monte Vallier's Ruminator Audio, San Francisco, USA.

The album's nine compositions are an exorcism of sonic fury and bad vibes and bounce resolutely along with the purgatorial poetry of Eugene Robinson, whose vocals – part urgent whisper, all dark noise and drang – don't so much recall the '90s heyday of Noise Rock but inhabit a very real space of existential dread and involuntary death at the hands of those dedicated to the proposition "the meek shall inherit the earth."

"A Resting Place for Strangers", a confession, a suicide note, a threat is a musical conversation that leaves very little said post-facto. With a guest vocal and cover photo by Polish Chanteuse Kasia Meow, "A Resting Place for Strangers" is a disquieting soundtrack for times best forgotten but that in all likelihood we'll never forget.

Da un'idea di Xabier Iriondo, Francesco "Franz" Valente e Pierpaolo Capovilla, un nuovo progetto musicale interamente dedicato al rock più massimalista. Il disco, composto e registrato in tre giorni, prende forma negli studi di registrazione La Sauna, nel varesotto. Xabier, Francesco e Pierpaolo propongono a Eugene S. Robinson, storica voce degli Oxbow, di prendere parte alla nuova avventura. Eugene registra presso gli studi Monte Vallier, di San Francisco, USA. Giulio Ragno Favero, infine, si prende cura del missaggio e del mastering delle nove canzoni dell'album. Nasce così una nuova band: Buñuel, dal nome del grande regista naturalizzato messicano.

Nove tracce, trenta minuti di furia sonora, l'album d'esordio di Buñuel ci introduce in un'atmosfera purgatoriale, vera e propria cifra artistica di Eugene S. Robinson: una sorta di incubo ad occhi aperti, dove voce e parole si intersecano in costrutti sonori violentissimi, dotati della carica "elettrica" caratteristica dello stile chitarristico di Xabier Iriondo, con Franz Valente e Pierpaolo Capovilla ad occuparsi di una sezione ritmica serratissima, episodicamente lenta ed infernale, rapidissima e hard-core nella maggior parte dell'album.

Il disco d'esordio di Buñuel è uno sforzo artistico privo di compromessi, estremista nelle intenzioni ed estremo nella sua realizzazione.
