Mindspring Music Presents: DEVICEFUL - Process Interactive [MSM109]

“Process Interactive” by DEVICEFUL (aka DB) is based around a keen fascination with how much information comes into our minds and spirit; and how that process results in music. Memories, emotion, relationships, love, synths, voices, samples, percussion, and FX all sort of meld, pushed forward by the inspiration of other artist’s creations. So much being processed, and flowing back out as music/song creations that evolve into a bit of something to be heard, and hopefully enjoyed. While writing and producing these four tracks, Don Brown, the producer felt blessed to have so many amazing pallets of color to work from and so many incredible artists to be inspired by. One of his all-time favorites is Illusive Tuna. Their work has been and continues to be, very inspirational for him, and when they agreed to remix Creole Cave of Wonders for this EP, it put just the perfect point on it.

The Triple Drop Productions evolutionary breakdown of genre development continues. Dub Warriors Vol 3 takes dub and dub-inspired styles on another epic quest through time, reminding us of where the dance floor/hall movement began . . . Jamaica in the 1950s? Yes, to some extent that is where bass and sub first took flight to vibrate our chests, move our feet and rattle our nostrils. And it has been doing so ever since . . . But people have been dancing to the resonance of a drum since long before records existed. And our explorations in electronic music today are our 'versions' of the ancestors' creations and ceremonial celebrations. This recognition can be deeply humbling. And for me personally, knowing and acknowledging the process that has taken place has made me truly grateful for the mind boggling access to further exploration through sonic space that software developers and engineers have granted to our finger tips. . . Big ups to the coders and mathematical geniuses that make this gift ever more apparent with every pass of the moon and sun! 

Welcoming new and old listeners of the Dub Warriors series. It gives me great pleasure to finally send this third edition out on its course. Packed with various talents hailing from far and wide. Again, eclectic and moresome. Unique and versatile. The TDP family and it's honour presents 'The Versatile Vanguard' . . . A beautiful array of deep, tale telling bass music, to send us into the final months of the summer season in the northern hemisphere.

Meditative and ancient feels provides the listener into an elevating journey as his sound design fuses ancient Greek resonance and furthers an intriguing balance. Experience rejuvenation at its fullest as each soundscape opens up elemental clarity, possibility, and creativity in a mind bending fashion through enigmatic frequencies. 

Kataphasis is an ancient Greek word that means "affirmation." Holding the belief that music is actually a language, the Kataphasis project seeks to spread feelings of affirmation by achieving a level of musical familiarity balanced with a level of sonic experimentation. Kataphasis holds his roots in psychedelic chillout but draws from a wide array of musical genres as inspiration. Kataphasis enjoys gaining perspectives from all walks of life, folding origami, and spending time with his girlfriend and cat.
