Burn night at Kiwiburn [ Burning Man NZ ] was such a vibe. . . and a blur. I played a 2.5hr evening set at Creature Lab, danced for a bit, had a nap, woke up at midnight and launched straight into a 1.5hr improv/freestyle set at The Closet. So much fun, but having planned nothing and just woken up, the first 30mins was slightly hectic as I felt into the crowd, played around with the vibe and found my groove. Here's the last 60mins as we bounce around genres and get darker and heavier.

In addition to his work as a DJ, Dustin is actively involved with the ATLAS collective in Bonn, a community dedicated to promoting underground music and strengthening cohesion within the scene. His commitment to fostering a vibrant music culture is evident in his role as an organizer of events like Local Bass in Düsseldorf and WAVE in Cologne. 

These platforms not only showcase his skills as an artist but also highlight his talent for curating memorable experiences that bring together like-minded music enthusiasts.

The prolific Starski is back with 5 more adventures in sound. This new EP starts with the angelic intro of Sonder that springs to life with empyreal beats and driving bass as it builds into another atmospheric odyssey. Spacecaked keeps the beautiful breakbeat work and layers it with pads, keys and infectious stabs throughout. Serene is another trip through paradise as rolling breaks and uplifting pads perfectly compliment the evolving melodies that swirl effortlessly to life. Spark begins with light pads, discreet bass stabs and a sprinkle of soulful melodics before strings and oldskool breakbeats bound into being and offer another journey through layers of pleasing harmonies. The EP ends on Unshakeable a stunning musical tale peppered serenely with delicate piano, soaring pads and chopped breaks to create a wonderful closing piece.

I'm a big fan of music generally, and also making connections with people through music. My collection has grown over the years and is still growing weekly! It contains a bit of everything, mostly influenced by breakbeat and drum and bass although more recently house and tech house. I was and still am a big fan of breaks, especially tracks from the likes of Freeland, Atomic Hooligan, Freq Nasty, Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts etc but this list is definitely not exhaustive and I will listen to, and play anything within reason. Got to have an open mind! 

Things are a little quieter these days but I've spent many weekends lost in a field/club/house party somewhere!

Join me on Cutters Choice Radio for my Slam the Breaks on show to put a smile on your face! I play a good range of stuff and don’t focus on one particular style or genre.
