Lyra Valenza set the tone for their first full-length album ‘Low Gear No Pressure’ with an idyllic ambience, which then tumbles into feisty, heartfelt dance workouts. Across eight tracks, the Danish duo explore the pixellated euphoria of their previous ‘Scan, Deliver’ and ‘Nightshade Edition’ EPs with a more focused sensitivity.

We feature ‘Life on the Line’, a track that goes out to the soulful junglists, but with a touches of trance in the samplework.

For our 59th release, we are very excited to present ‘Rudiments’, a new album by Gooooose.

‘2022 was a strange time in Shanghai. The good thing about being locked inside for months on end was that I had had the chance to find the time to observe ordinary, everyday things that surround me and probably many other people. A pencil, socks, a packet of biscuits, vegetables, meat, or small thoughts or some feelings or emotions that last for only half of a second. They all have interesting shapes and very delicate structures, multiple layers, like some sort of primal architecture made by an anonymous person many years ago. They are constantly telling stories, however often ignored by me, or us, for whatever reason. I decided to sit down and observe them carefully, and later started making sounds for them and their stories.

From the start, Young Smoke (currently going by Yunng Smoke) has established himself as being part of the first wave of internationally recognized footwork producers from Chicago, through Planet Mu's renowned Bangs & Works compilation series. Followed by his debut album "Space Zone" on the same label, he carved out his sound palette blending 8-bit nostalgia, blastoff noises, launchpad countdowns, and robotic voices on top of overt lead chords. 
For the last decade he has been self-releasing numerous projects through his Bandcamp until now. The forthcoming EP: "The Portal" is a collection of throwbacks and previously unreleased tracks from his early works in 2011-2012. This EP will be released through Liquorish Records on Friday 31st May. 
Today we have your first listen of "Battle Field." Young Smoke delivers his unique take on footwork with conceptual sci-fi sounds. The track combines the dance battle energy with an arcade of airy synth melodies and menacing horns, set to heavy 160bpm rhythms.

Paco Osuna's record label, Mindshake, welcomes the return of GruuvElement's, who presents a tribal tech house EP with rolling basslines.

GruuvElement's is a Romanian artist featuring on Mindshake for the second time. His upbeat style of tech house utilises live percussion fills and stripped back grooves, and his music has been released on other prestigious record labels ranging from Crosstown Rebels to Solid Grooves Raw.

This four-track release is tailor-made for the dance floor, and each of the tracks have been heavily supported in Paco Osuna's recent DJ sets. GruuvElement's music has also been played by other DJs ranging from Marco Carola to Carl Cox.

"Sweat" opens the release with explosive snare hits, saxophone flurries, and a funky bassline. Next up is the title track, "Clap to the Beat," which has a hypnotic groove utilising the slick tones of captivating vocals. "Afterparty" has hedonistic vocals and trippy trumpet stabs layered over fast-paced percussion. "Euphoric" closes the release with an infectious bassline, underpinning vibrant percussion and quirky vocals.
