Urban radio today is extremely unbalanced (tipping the scale in Satan's favor in my opinion lol) and I  decided to touch on it for the first official single off my upcoming album, Believing In Forever. After a couple of warm up records, today I'm submitting my first single entitled "Satan Radio (66.6 FM)" produced by S&G Beatz. Believing In Forever slated to drop on my born day, October 27th!

The vindictiveness and self loathing of not forgiving ourselves and others will ultimately lead to our own demise if we don't learn to let go of those mistakes and become better for them. Definitely one of the most personal songs on Kingtucky and one of the more reflective songs I've ever written."

Verse 2 isolates being racially profiled and the lack of value shown of BLACK lives. Growing up, we are often told that if we do everything right, we can avoid negative encounters with law enforcement. But we've seen in many cases that if you are black it doesn't matter what you do compared to your white counterparts, your life could be at risk at any moment.

Often times in transition, whether from a boy to man, or in between different chapters in our lives we find a truth that stabilizes us in our journey. We are awaken to a knowledge that is everlasting. Many oppressed people know that they are oppressed but they don't know why. It's when they wake up and gain the knowledge of "why" that they gain the power to fight the system! This verse is dedicated to the time when I navigated my journey and finally found the truth!

One of the most effective strategies of combat is divide and conquer. Black women have been under assault from many different angels off systemic oppression such as healthcare disparities and dissipated family structures. Another form I see is the pitting of black women against each other based on style, size, and skin shade. Many institutions, such as the music industry, illuminate one style of what it means to be a woman making them seem monolithic. Today's verse highlights that just a little bit. For those reading, continue shining in your uniqueness and be bold in your differences.

p until recently, black women were dying and their names were simply forgotten.. For day/verse 8 of my daily #16BarsForBreonna I wrote and recorded a song called “SAY HER NAME!” The black woman is the most targeted person on earth. They disproportionately lose their life while giving birth 3 times more than their white counterparts, they are left to lead homes that systemic racism has stripped of its fathers, and are too often monolithically viewed in popular culture and music! Not all bias is based in hatred. Most is settled in ignorance, guilt & fragility. Though the black community isn't monolithic, systemic racism has imparted on all of us in some way. One of my favorite parts of being unapologetically BLACK, is the strength and endurance that saturates the passed down blood in my veins.. Using that strength and faith to overcome my own obstacles and then using my victories to inform my gifts in hopes to help others defeat their demons... I love it. As we enter week 4 of our daily #16BarsForBreonna series, I wanted to lay some ground work on the impact that slavery has had on the vulnerability that balck women are left with it 2020, while also highlighting the uncanny fight that resides in our queens when facing the most dehumanizing odds imaginable. This week, my brother Quay Bailey aka DJ Well Blended donated soundscapes for me to use to try and conceptualize the progression of African American women from slavery to current day, despite being the most unprotected persons on Earth. Again, my vibe this week is chronicling the progression of black women from slavery to current day. Day/Verse 24 (produced by Quay Bailey) I get into the “Recontruction” period a bit.. A time when black women sought to reclaim their body and image after centuries of rape and sexual abuse from their overseers and masters. I also explored the impact that segregation had on the relationship between black men and women.

My hometown has been hit with a rash of recent violence, along with the rest of the country it seems. Everybody gets so wrapped up in the issues (gun control) and the cause (stop the violence), that the victims are often forgotten. This song is dedicated to those that lost their lives too soon and the responsibility we all have to have a positive impact on the youth so we can save more of these young boys & girls from a premature death.. 

This is the 3rd single off my upcoming FREE album, "No Child Left Behind" dropping late June. "Voices Of The Grave" is produced by German production squad S&G Beatz!

Devine Carama is a nationally renowned, 2022 Emmy Award-winning hip-hop artist, author, educator, community activist, & motivational speaker from Lexington, KY. He was most recently featured on Good Morning America and the Jennifer Hudson Show after a video of him teaching emotional intelligence to young boys went viral. He is the new director of the Mayor of Lexington's youth gun violence reduction program, ONE Lexington, which has launched several new initiatives in its first 2 years under his direction. 2023 saw a considerable drop in homicides and shootings in Lexington and that progress continues in 2024. Devine is also the founder and director of a youth-focused nonprofit organization called Believing In Forever Inc. 
In December 2018, Devine performed outside in the cold for 48 hours straight to raise awareness for his annual youth coat drive, "A Coat to Keep The Cold Away". Over the last 10 years, Believing in Forever has facilitated the collection and delivery of over 22,000 coats to children in Central and Eastern Kentucky. In 2017, Believing In Forever led a citywide effort to collect thousands of gallons of water to combat the Flint water crisis. In 2020, Devine walked across the entire state of Kentucky (Pikeville to Paducah) to raise voter awareness. 
Other Believing in Forever initiatives include Sons Of Single Mothers Mentoring Days, Senior Summer Jam,  "A Coat to Keep The Cold Away" Youth Coat Drive, Community On The Corners, Poetry In Motion Youth, & Quarantine Care Packages (during the pandemic) more! In 2020, he started “The Luna Library” in memory of his late daughter, Kamaria Spaulding, which provides FREE black history/character-focused books for children within the Lexington area. To date, the Luna Library has given away nearly 1,500 books to local children of all ages and is a featured collection at the Lexington Public Library's Northside Branch. Devine is also featured at the University of Kentucky, where he teaches a course called “Lyricism & Leadership: Hip-Hop & Community Change”.
Musically, Devine has worked with and/or opened up for acts such as Rakim, Big KRIT, J. Cole, Talib Kweli, Nappy Roots, LL Cool J, Black Eyed Peas, Canibus, De La Soul, Little Brother, & many more. His music has been covered in major music publications like The Source, Vibe, & Complex Magazine. In 2010, Devine became the first rap artist to ever perform at the historical Lyric Theatre. Most recently, Devine was the first 2-time winner of NBA All-Star, Dame Lillard’s “Live Cypher” Rap Contest. Devine is also a 5-time “Lexington Hip Hop Artist of The Year” award winner. 
In 2020, Carama brought black girls and women together (middle school, high school, and college) to create an album called “The Black Girl Project”, which focused on the journey of maturation for black girls coming of age in a society that doesn’t always value them. Devine’s intersection of hip hop, education, and activism continued in 2023 when he collaborated with professors at the University of Kentucky and Rutgers University who were doing a fatherhood study analyzing the disenfranchisement many fathers feel in the justice system. Devine collaborated with longtime producer, JK-47, and R&B artist, Bryce Jamel, to create a song called “Invisible Father” which artistically brought to life the data in that study. Later that year, Devine did a 1-week residency at one of Kentucky’s most prestigious higher ed institutions, Centre College, where he taught classes, lectured on social justice, hosted a student open mic, and performed 2 shows on campus.
