Luxus Varta is back on his own label, In Abstracto, with a new four track EP including a remix by SC-164.

Emeric Di Paolo created his Luxus Varta alias in 2015 and has established himself as one of the most unique sounding producers in the field of Electro and IDM, releasing on SolarOneMusic, Klakson, Shipwrec, Trust, Brokntoys, Intramuros and Nocta Numerica.  He is also a regular collaborator with Paris The Black FU (Detroit Grand PuBahs), most notably as Techmarine Bottom Feeders.  In 2020 he launched In Abstracto to release some of his most personal works.

Meanwhile, SC-164 is the brainchild of Brooklyn based Greg Schappert a.k.a. Donor, who’s been bringing his infectious strain of corrosive electro via his eponymously named label as well as the likes of Shipwrec and Cultivated Electronics.

The session was recorded during the lockdown of 2020, when windows were more watched than screens for most of us, and when freedom of thought was the only way to travel.  ‘W’ is a window on freedom, an invitation to do whatever you want by your mind, at anytime, anywhere.  Just close your eyes and listen, nothing can stop you.

Over the years ICF has gained a solid reputation for his technical ability, capable of mixing just about anything that passes through his hands. He uses his knowledge and risky selections to converge and mix techno, electro, house, acid, IDM or broken beats. An example of his style is the Holydubs platform, that has been running in the spanish capital since 2009. Functioning with a forward thinking perspective, Holydubs past events have included artists such as Kode9, Mike Paradinas, Objekt, DMX Krew, Pearson Sound, Claro Intelecto, Djrum or Alessandro Cortini, to name few.

He has played in RA 24/7 Bogotá (Colombia), Soundwave (Croatia) or Re:sound (London). Since his arrival in Colombia he became a regular host at the renowned Video Club in Bogotá and broadcasted the ‘Holydubs Radio Show’ on Overcast Radio.

ICF is also half of the VOID project, alongside Posse, in which they focus on the darker sides of electronics, metal, ambient and industrial music.

This week, Le Catalyste is happy to receive Kim Cosmik (@kimcosmik) for a rolling electro to Breaks and Drums set !
Kim Cosmik started as DJ Kosmik for festival sound systems Spiral Tribe and Bedlam, playing at festivals and clubs all over Europe. 

She is currently a resident at Threads Radio, Techno Club, The Dodo Club, Xolo and her own event Hybrid which she launched in 2019 and she is leading her own label Cybersoul on Bandcamp.
She also release tracks on a variety of labels such as Studio Rockers, Crobot Music, Touched Music, Urban Distotions, and many more... and 2020 Vision Records later this year.

I'm trully happy to have her as her sets are always moving from one style to another, easily and smoothly, always closing with some Weird IDM, DnB or industrial tracks! Enjoy ! :)

Kwasir is the project of Roberto Crisma (Italy), focused on his dark and robotic side. His passion for music raises year by year, till his parents bought to him a little classic guitar and then started to play his first chords. 

In the high school was introduce to the drums, where he played with many groups in his hometown. During that period he discovered the electronic scene, first with the hardcore sounds, then he explored the introspective, dark techno and electro. 

Finally he found, after sever years of research, his sound: a mix of electro and acid sounds surrounded by dark and melancholic atmosphere.

Since mid-2020 Cliff Dalton has been influenced by 80’s soundtracks. setting about to create a blend of dark robotic mechanical and deep electro. As an artist, his use of conceptual themes is constructed of elements that create dense atmospheric soundscapes. 

Probing as an interface between harsh reality and pure fiction. He reveals a surrealistic emphasis on sonic particles into the realms of electro.
