'In The City' is one of 11 songs that Frozen Frog recorded in the Relight Studio's in Hilvarenbeek in June 1978. 

Two songs were released on a independent single: 'From A Distance I Can smell Your feet' and 'Eileen' (Special SP780119)

In The City

The Health Band is a project by Paul van Gameren, who is inspired by big American bands like Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes and Marc Benno's Asylum Choir. For a short period they play live in Holland, Germany and Switzerland and accompany Percy Sledge on 17 shows.

'Take Me To The River' is released as single by WEA at the end of 1980. 'Don't You Talk To Me' is the b-side. The song is written by Rick 'DeVito' Hogendorp, Frans van Reeven, Paul Vink en Peter van Gameren).

Don't You Talk To Me

The Frog is the houseband of Roepie Groepie in Krimpen aan de IJssel. The band rehearses at the youth center, plays live and sometimes records a few demo's. Somewhere in 1980 or 1981 The Frog records 3 songs there: 'I wonder why' (2 takes), 'Kick back' (3 takes) and 'Ain't She Sweet (2 takes).

This is the first take of 'I Wonder Why', a song that is released on their debut album 'Be Kind To Animals, Kiss A Frog' (Polydor - 1982).

The Frog plays live at Veronica's Countdown Café on February 25, 1983. The band does at least 7 songs, probably more, but there is only one tape left of the show in Anna's Hoeve. A part of this show is broadcasted on the radio.

'Chrissie' is fourth in the set, that starts with'Confusion', 'Try' and an extended version of 'We Got Love', which is the single at that time. After 'Chrissie'they play 'I Wonder Why' and a cover of Al Green's 'Take Me To The River'.

Chrissie (live)

'High Flyer' is the opening track of 'Document', the second and final album of The Frog (Boni records - 1984). The song is written and recorded by Luce Steymel in 1983. She stayed in Rotterdam as well, but The Frog never met her.

This live version is taken from a show in december 1983, that was recorded by the AVRO and broadcasted on Dutch radio on March 5, 1984.

During the show Rick 'DeVito' Hogendorp mentions the release of 'Document', a German tour and says that The Frog is about to quit.

Although The Frog split up after the release of 'Document', Rick 'DeVito' Hogendorp calls the band back into the studio for a new album: 'Capricorn'. Record company Metronome is mostly interested in the singer, but the album is released by Rickey & The Frog.

'Funky Street' is a Arthur Conley cover and the first single of the forthcoming album. A release date is set in 1985. This live version is from the German TV-show 'Musik Convoy'. A popshow from the WDF (Westdeutschen Fernsehen). It is aired on November 19, 1984.

The show is hosted by Alan Bangs and Robert Treutel. Other acts on the show are Bogart, The Stranglers and Floy Joy.

'Ain't No Love (In The Heart Of The City)' is on of the tracks from the 'Capricorn' album (Metronome/CNR). It is written by Bobby Bland, who released it on his album 'Dreamer' in 1974.

Rick DeVito is a Dutch singer-songwriter. In the 1980s he toured with The Frog in the Netherlands and Germany, before he launched his solo-career with a cover of The Rolling Stones classic '(I can't get no) Satisfaction'.
