Since the first time I entered a studio to produce music La Tour has been a constant inspiration.

From time to time in over 30 years I’ve been looking back to his seminal composition “Blue” to find inspiration on the atmospheres and to the extremely creative melodic and rhythm solutions inside what I consider one of my favorite track of all time in electronic music. 

Today I’m releasing my own cover version of another outstanding tune by La Tour, “People Are Still Having Sex”. Have been dreaming for so long to realize it but it took a while to build the confidence to measure myself with such a masterpiece. 

I hope you will find it nice and for those who don’t know the original maybe a chance to discover a piece of our history.

Los Suruba is a Spanish duo of producers, record label managers, designers and old-school DJs who have been laying down their electric sounds for more than 25 years. They blend house, minimal, electro and deep vibes on acclaimed labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical and Dreams on Wax. Now, they bring their signature style back home to Suruba Records and reignite the flame that made the label an essential part of the electronic music landscape.

Suruba is more than just a label - it's an artistic explosion where music, design, street art and fashion all converge in a celebration of creative expression. It has always been synonymous with forward-thinking house and minimal sounds over almost dozens of releases from respected names like Dennis Cruz, Adriatique, Huxley, Robert Babicz, Hot Since 82 and many more.

This much-anticipated return comes ahead of the label celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026. The first single is a taster of Los Suruba's upcoming full-length Memories of the Future, which encapsulates the duo's smart sonic evolution and continued deep connection to underground culture.

This new era begins with the genre-defying 'Las Bestias de Xarraca feat. Inkrustart' which blends the driving rhythms of dark minimal house music with the rebellious energy of punk. Inkrustart’s raw, defiant vocals are delivered in a signature punk style with a powerful message of discontent and introspection that addresses themes of societal dynamics and individual identity. The lyrics draw inspiration from the mythical Xarraca, a legendary beach in the north of Ibiza where the vocals were recorded. Says Los Suruba, "Nestled among our favourite spots, Xarraca embodies the untamed freedom and defiance that define the unique vibe of the island's northern community."

The first to remix is long-time house mainstay Sepp. His version is endlessly on the move with a wriggling house groove, haunting vocal whispers laced throughout and underlapping bass that never quits. Spaniard and Suruba label associate Enzo Leep is an eclectic and prolific producer who adds his own spin to the original. It's a punchy and futuristic house cut with writhing bass and globular synths designed to energise dance floors.

EN: A release to close out 2025 by our resident and founder of the ЛИТЬЁ promo group. Straight from Kazan, «also me» by VRDNPRVCHK [вредная привычка].

Over the past year, Ruslan has managed to build a route with Guzeeva and release a collaboration on vtgnike («The Healer», 2025 edit). He also released the strong UK garage album «Illegal Grooves and Mixes», the work on which forced VRDNPRVCHK to cancel his participation in the Dekmantel Festival 2025 in Amsterdam.

At the same time, based on the results of the release test launch conducted by the members of the expert group. The release «also me» was deemed an excellent fit for the soundtrack of New Year's menu same as salad «Oliv'ye» and meats, as well as «Kolokolchik» lemonade at the subsequent feast on January 1st.

This eight-track release was compiled during couple of years. And it's features variations demos from the depths of the table to the author's own reimaginings of familiar tracks in a 4x4 format. When the kick drum hits, new meanings and new aesthetics are born.
The release will be released digitally and on audio cassette (by the end of January).

За прошедший год Руслан успел построить маршрут с Гузеевой и выпустить коллаборацию на vtgnike (Зе хилер). А также зарелизить колоритный uk garage альбом «Illegal grooves and mixes», работа над которым заставила отказаться от участия Вредной привычки в Dekmantel Festival 2025 в Амстердаме.

Вместе с тем, по результатам проведения опытной эксплуатации экспертной группой, релиз «also me» был признан отлично вписывающимся в саундтрек употребления новогодних оливье и заливных, а так же распитии лимонада Колокольчик на последующем застолье 1 января.

Данный релиз из 8 треков собирался больше года и содержит вариации от демо из дальних глубин стола до вариантов авторского переосмысления знакомых треков в формате 4х4. Когда бочка ложится рождаются новые смыслы, новые эстетики.
Релиз будет выпущен в цифровом формате и на аудиокассетах (чуть позже).
