Deon is a Detroit native whose roots stem from the crates of family. Growing up hearing many different styles of music in the household is the inspiration behind his range of selection. Inspired by everything from jazz, funk, & soul, to more modern black dance music forms like hip-hop/r&b, house, techno, & brokenbeat. 

His career in Detroit began as resident DJ & organizer for the monthly hip-hop showcase "Bluecollar Gentleman". 
At the same time Deon started working alongside Theo Parrish & Sound Signature, 
helping organize and promote the Music Gallery party series. 

Spending years consuming & working in Detroit's underground would help inform his own more dancefloor/community oriented event, "Healin' Session" as well as the immersive music and art experience, "Black Music".

Recently, Deon was asked by the legendary Theo Parrish to help him selecting artists that he knows in order to be part of a great compilation, representing the originality and essence of the Detroit's sound.

We open a new season of gladiocast series with German Angst, a rather mysterious DJ-Team operating on the axis between the North Rhine-Westphalian art metropole Dusseldorf and East Germany's Electro capital Leipzig. Since 2019 the two DJs, which like to stay unknown, try to connect the dots between east and west - focussing on classic and real electro, played straight from wax. In the past years they had appearances at Callshop Radio (Leipzig) and Tarmac Festival (Allstedt). Enjoy this fantastic mix.


Abrimos una nueva temporada de la serie gladiocast con German Angst, un equipo de DJ bastante misterioso que opera en el eje entre la metrópolis artística de Renania del Norte-Westfalia, Düsseldorf, y la capital Electro de Alemania del Este, Leipzig. Desde 2019, los dos DJs, a los que les gusta permanecer desconocidos, intentan conectar los puntos entre el este y el oeste, centrándose en el electro clásico, mezclando solamente en formato vinilo. The Adapt is a UK based Polish DJ and Producer, with a 90's Hip-Hop background and a solid foundation in Breakbeat and Electro. Some of his influences include artists such as Dave Clarke, DJ Hell and Kraftwerk. For several years he has been into electronic music and sound experimentation bringing to his audience dark and powerful Techno and Electro belters, incorporating sounds from the Future.
The Adapt plays a mix of wild twisted basslines, brain melting melodies and distorted broken beats. He has  been working with well respected labels in the electro community such as Abseits Recordings, Bass Agenda Recordings, Urban Connections, and many more

WNCL Records is a label operating out of South London run by West Norwood Cassette Library aka Bob Bhamra - an underrated producer and DJ we’ve long been an admirer of. Since Bob inaugurated the imprint with his ‘What It Is’ 12″ back in 2010 the label has gone on to release a steady stream of top quality music from the likes of Canadian recluse Kevin McPhee, the don Don Froth and cave-dwelling Techno talent J.Tijn. Bob doesn’t have a particularly strict criteria when it comes to choosing the music he releases, he simply has to like it. In the years before WNCL he put out some mid 90s House trax as The Bob Bhamra Project, a bit of late 90s Drum and Bass with Plastic Soul, a few Ambient-y releases at the turn of the millenium with Data 70 and one-off sound projects as No.1 Astronaut.

Continuing with their fifth birthday celebrations Bob had originally planned to do a WNCL Recordings only mix to celebrate the label’s 5th anniversary but, when he realised that November 2015 also marks the death of Roger ‘Wildchild’ Mackenzie, he decided to turn in a tribute mix to his productions. As Bob says himself, “2015 is the 5th anniversary of WNCL Recordings. Alas, 2015 also marks 20 years since the sad passing of legendary UK House producer, Roger “Wildchild” Mackenzie. For my Hyponik mix, I wanted to pay tribute to the underground hero whose music has been a constant influence on West Norwood Cassette Library and the WNCL label.” RIP.
