It is said that in the deepest layers of the subterranea, biology has no place… the complex mechanisms of old evolved relentlessly in ever-spiraling complexity, drawing their energy from the eternal thermal vents of the Worldcore. Mechanical beings woven within a delicate web of survival, spun into life from the sprawling hierarchical mechanism of the planet itself. In the dimly lit depths of one such level, subtle core alignment shifts spark their reaction, vents rerouting the intense heat through systems long untouched, spreading its energy across ancient precipitation tanks. Slow tendrils of steam curl upwards in the darkness, growing in intensity… feeding life into the machines of this place, setting the gears to their purpose. Lights flicker into being, and with them the metal orchids flourish, casting their alluring glow throughout the level. Life stirs in the fresh heat of the moment, the whirring of a thousand intricate mechanisms returning to life as wing films push against the air… every gear’s movement with a single purpose – to feed.
 
EATBRAIN presents rapidly rising Ukrainian producer NICKBEE with his GEARS EP, also featuring the eerie and alluring vocals of JOANNA SYZE. With these 4 delicately balanced and keenly crafted slices of neurofunk, Nickbee displays a refined sense of structure and minimalism, whilst delivering a powerful vibe for the dance. Half of the EP drips with dystopian spirit, bristling with razor sharp edges softened in NOWHERE TO RUN and WE FIGHT by Syze’s ethereal and alien voice. The Gears EP retains a sense of tight urgency and patient precision throughout, with GEAR’s tilted syncopation providing a light-footed and paranoid pace, while TOGETHER WITH FUTURE delivers a hulking stepper that packs a weighty punch.

The levels that underground labels like Kosen Productions continue to push have ensured the imprint has stayed on the agenda’s forefront. And this remains the same ethos for their next release, returning to the heavily skilled, crashing sounds of Maniatics, three producers who made their name on Kosen and who now help to spearhead its discography. The Sevilla based outfit, having also released on the likes of Titan Records, Eatbrain and Viper, deliver two brand new records which signify why they’re such an imperative part of Kosen. And having started its path in 2011, the French label has thrived within drum & basses independent market, pushing forward both burgeoning newcomers and more heavyweight figures. Whether it’s Signs, The Clamps, Nickbee or Maniatics themselves, Kosen has offered up some of the artists’ most resounding cuts. 

‘I’m Gonna Kill You’ and ‘Enough On My Conscience’ are no different, two undeniably huge records which go to show why Kosen were so hotly tipped after discovering the trio from relative obscurity. The single’s A-side ‘I’m Gonna Kill You’ begins as you’d expect from a Maniatics track. It’s cutting, whilst each slab of unforgiving drum patterns hit harder and harder as they loop between its flying percussion. There’s a hook which grapples with you between every slamming breakdown and this is why you’ll be hearing it across clubs throughout the next few months. The outfit know how to make an impact and this is clear to see through the ruthless dancefloor appeal of ‘I’m Gonna Kill You’. 

Then on the reverse, ‘Enough On My Conscience’ is just as destructive, slicing through with punching stabs of bass and hollowed up drum throws, with each slamming just as hard as the last. You become entangled in the destructive throws of Maniatics, alongside each one of their carefully fashioned layers of engineering, as despite how explosive their style is they’re still meticulous in their creation. Bringing together two huge tracks, Maniatics aren’t hitting the brakes on their career anytime soon. They’re making their way to the top, with Kosen presenting another rung on the ladder and a home for their tearaway pieces of art.

After a long period ... It´s time to welcome a new episode of remixes that will not leave anyone indifferent. On this occasion the protagonists of giving a twist to the original songs are none other than CPTL PNSHMNT, MANIATICS, HEKRIM and for the first time releasing music in our family, THRILLER! . Four technically perfect remixes with colossal work from these artists! We start with the remix of the magnificent MANIATICS to the original track piece "Anubis", an original song made by CPTL PNSHMENT feat RADIOHAZZARD. Adapting to the times Maniatics presents us with a remix of the freshest, and solid, at the same time elegant, giving a 180 degree turn to the theme that this wonderful original track already carried. Strong basses accompanied by explosive synths, powerful rhythms and a totally successful dancefloor flow !. The Next remix is ​​starring by CPTL PNSHMENT, and this time they are the ones who turn the game around on the original Maniatics track, "Fewer Job". A titan Neurofunk track, with unstoppable energy and strength. Puerto Ricans guys express the original theme in an incredible way and making a version 2.0 Supreme!. Strong and solid rhythms, accompanied by a bassline accord to the essence of the bassline of the original track, but elegantly enhancing this one, which was already a masterpiece, making it an absolutely explosive and fantastic remix! We continue with HEKRIM, which repeats again in a new reference, with a remix to MADMATIK of his original song "Psycothrope", Mutating an original track of the most experimental and atmospheric, in a roller pistero akin to the most current and contemporary sound of the genere , and he created a different and much more partying version of this original song already released some time ago. Last but not least, we close the cycle of this Part two of remixes, with a new member that joins the family starting with this remix that he has presented to us! The fourth track starring by THRILLER,  who has managed to transform the abrupt atmosphere and terrifying ecosystem of "Infekt", Original track released some months ago by CPTL PNSHMENT, into a subtle and wonderful full-fledged deep roller. In this thriller remix, he continues to support the essence of the original song, but with less strident and much more technical rhythms, classy bass lines, and turning the atmosphere of this original song into something much deeper and more spatial.
