Resident Angelino, AKUMEN, curates his monthly Chinatown Sessions at General Lee’s Cocktail bar in the famed LA’s Chinatown Central Plaza on Gin Ling Way. The parties feature emerging locales highlighting the finest of leftfield, lo-fi, deep, techno, disco and funk has to offer whilst producing floor fillers. His recent self-released EP titled ‘Stress // Relief’ came to the masses on July 30th 2018 featuring house tracks with realms in deep, tech, acid as well as a glitch-y LA bass tune. ‘Came To Jack’ harness the vibe of the grime, the energy and the unapologetic behavior of the Los Angeles underground party scene. And on the 5th day, Murg graciously delivered unto thee, o disciples of the rave, a trilogy of true school 140bpm shellers, bestowed upon you the form of “Psychedelia”, and it thumped and it was good. The second EP from the Newcastle UK lad, “Psychedelia” continues the journey from his self-released “Peugeots and Rave Stabs” but cranks the turbo factor up to rave-a-delic three hundred and three. Title track “Psychedelia” wastes no time letting you know what time it is - time you took a measurement of your heartbeat is it was time it is, ‘cause this tune raises the temperature like dropping that white dove you found inside the piggy bank in the bedroom at your parents place, right before a hardcore F45 workout. Nezt up, “Acid On Acid” does exactly what is advertised on the back of the box, and if you find yourself partial to a squiggly devilfish bassline, this one will fit neatly in your rave hole. Lastly, just when you thought you could get none more old school, EP closer “Break the Trip” hits you with the rave voltage. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself shuffling like an absolute madman to this one. Make no mistakes, this whole release clamps around your leg like lock-jaw. Rave.

Dexter's first brush with the electronic music world was on the dancefloor as part of a breakdance crew. Back then he learnt the power of rhythm and how to move a floor, and it is something that has stayed with him through a long career producing everything from pioneering electro to deeper house and raw techno. In cahoots with Panoramabar resident Steffi he started no-nonsense label Klakson whilst releasing on Clone, Rush Hour and Ostgut Ton himself. With more than a decades experience as a live artist and DJ, there is little the man cannot do; few places he hasn't played. Dexter speaks when he has something to say. And when he does, the world listens.
