A short mix I made while cooped up at home in isolation. I've put together a few of my favourite tracks to play and bounce to this year as well as a some new music I have been working on. I hope it can resonate for you and get you moving the way it has for me. ✌️

I'm super happy to be able to share this recording with you, from what was one of my favourite musical gatherings of the year last year. So many friends and familiar faces as well as new beautiful people, all dancing barefoot in the sand with such an amazing energy having connected through breathwork, yoga, ceremony, river swims, and 2 days of shared festival energy and music. I picked things up from Horla and Aura Jade who did a great job building an amazing uplifting energy through the sunny Sunday afternoon. I started playing at 4pm when the sun was still bathing the dancefloor, the sky mostly clear, no worrying signs of the storm on the forecast. After about an hour of fun, dark clouds started rolling in, hiding the sun and bringing with it super strong winds and a total downpour. The canopy over the dancefloor started billowing, the people started going wild, howling and screaming, dancing like crazy, giving all their energy back to the storm through the music, surrendering completely to the moment! After some time the storm started to settle and we started floating. As we landed at the end of my time, the setting sun started to poke through the rain clouds and Opposite Direktion took over and closed the stage with an awesome performance. It's an evening I know I will remember for a long time and am so grateful have shared and co-created with all the amazing people there.

Dexter Crowe @ Front Republic Festival 2022

I’m super happy to share this special recording with you guys from what was not only my first time playing stereo, but was one of the most treasured musical moments of my journey so far. 

Being invited by one of my best mates to bring in the new year together in this temple of music and dance was something I’ll never forget. The energy in the room that night was so special. We were surrounded by many of our best friends, some family and the most dedicated Montreal music community as well as some friends and dancers who had travelled from the US and other parts of Canada to be there with us. 

I opened things up before Mik (Kora) took over for another 4 hours or so and then we finished things b2b for another 4 hours. 

After countless nights/days at our studio playing together with a small group of close friends, it was something we had dreamt of doing at Stereo and somehow even though the club was sold out, it still felt like an extension of those intimate experiences. Where it feels like connecting authentically to the music and to each other is not just a celebration or a party, but collective therapy. United energy, everyone channeling their joy and their pain, their love and their gratitude through the music. There are few places where this still feels possible and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to play there and do it alongside someone that has become like family to me.

One my favourite moments from Burning Man was having the opportunity to play music from the Lucy S Cargo art car during sunrise. Already just biking in a gorilla onesie through the dust to find the glowing snail in the middle of the playa while the first signs of daylight were beginning to colour the sky was pretty surreal. @christianvoldstad played a beautiful set before I started around 6am while the sun was still hidden behind the mountains in the distance. A few friends, some small groups and solo burners danced on and around the car, others hung out in nearby art cars that had pulled up to listen, others climbed a nearby art installation, others pumped a fist while they biked passed. Ice cold Bloody Marys being served by our amazing hosts to any takers from the cutest little cart and the back of the snail.

By 6.30 or so the sun had started to peak over the horizon and within what seemed like a few minutes, had risen fully bringing the heat of a new day in the desert. Then right after me, my brother @koramusique took over with a masterful session that ended ushering Lucy over to the temple where the Black Rock Philharmonic was playing a special performance. Keep an eye and ear out for this special recording coming soon 👀 this was the beginning of an pretty epic day..

The full recording from my all night session at StereoBar in Montreal on the 8th of September for Les Beaux Dimanches. 

Returning home from my first Burning Man experience only a couple of days before, this night was an opportunity to channel and express a uniquely inspired energy. This week in the desert was many things, but more than anything it was an affirmation of the power of art and music. It deepened my gratitude to be participating in that and to have the chance to connect with people through music, especially in places like StereoBar. 

Getting to reunite with many friends with whom I had shared this BM  experience, as well as so many treasured Montreal friends and dancers was really special. It created a type of intimacy and togetherness that only happens when many things line up just right. 

The energy throughout the night was unforgettable.

He said the series is "sequenced and set in a manner of random order, varied intensities and formats, much like a REM sleep experience." As a big fan of his music, it was really special for me to welcome Ki.Mi. into The Guest Room this week and he certainly did not disappoint! It's been a while since I've had the chance to put a mix together since taking a break from The House of CJLO. I've been directing the majority of my energy towards my production and towards understanding what it is I want to, and can contribute to the world through music. This mix is a stepping stone for me in a way. The start of a long journey on which I hope to bring many people along with me. The mix is nothing particularly special, but it is a collection of tunes that have made me feel good over the past few weeks, mixed in a way that I find sounds nice. If there's any reason for my posting it, it is simply to pass on that experience. I hope you enjoy!
