A new year beckons and so does the ninth release on Shadow Sanctuary.  This instalment sees label boss Dexter Kane drop a couple of original tracks combined with two well crafted remixes from Kindimmer.

The title track: Hit Rewind is an upbeat affair.  Rolling bass, organic percussion and a rambling vocal sample from an obscure Inspectah Deck interview proceed a more stripped back section where a host of different fills and licks skip effortlessly around the groove.  As it's name suggests, 303 'til Infinity is a somewhat of an ode to Roland's famous bass module, a healthy slice of acid house, also featuring more than it's fair share of 707, 808, and 909.

Originally hailing from Greece, Berlin based Kindimmer is certainly one to watch.  His unique brand of house and techno has enabled him to sign tracks to the likes of Poker Flat, 2020 Vision, Resopal Schallware and Local Talk.  In this case he has delivered two remixes both of which deliver a more percussive dimension to Hit Rewind. His trademark style of big kicks, retro chords and heavily swung percussion shines through on both versions, a perfect addition to the package.

Chicks Luv Us a duo consisting of a lot of tech house flavour coming together again for another unique EP. Forthcoming on Miihalis Safras's stellar label known as Materialism, it brings all the characteristics it looks for on their imprint.

Saved's second release for 2013 comes from label debutant Julien Chaptal who presents the 2 track "Illin EP"

Fist up on the A side is "Eat Ya Foe", a track which is built on unique percussion that  possesses a warm bit crush effect. These foundations support the bouncing bassline which has an acid feel to it that works well against the potent vocals.

Further damage is caused on the flip with "Illin" where the rolling drums build  nicely into the engaging lead line that advances through the track with filters and variations.

DJ, producer, engineer, vinyl enthusiast, synth collector; there are many strings to Dexter's bow. Forged in the fires of the thriving London party scene, this latest endeavour from Ed Kane draws from many years' experience in the studio and behind the decks. Whilst being influenced by a wide range of genres, Dexter's music remains unique. Although you may not be able to pigeonhole him, you'll almost definitely be able to recognise his distinct sound. Often deep; sometimes dark; distinctly analogue; ever maintaining a groove lead, dance-floor aesthetic.

Dexter has signed tracks to the likes of Memoria, Get Physical, hedZup, Highgrade, Murmur and Fear of Flying, as well as being responsible for a solid stream of releases on his own label Shadow Sanctuary. A-list support has been frequent and gig requests have come from far afield. While his style lies rooted in London's clandestine basements and after-hours scene, Dexter is an astute and versatile DJ, capitalising on years of experience to read any manner of discerning dancefloor.

At the beginning of 2017 Dexter started Alternate facts alongside kindred spirit Thoma Bulwer. After throwing a string of illegal parties across The Capital, they now find themselves running regular events at the legendary The Lion and Lamb and managing a burgeoning vinyl only label.
