The fourth Takkra album is a cosmic, yet very personal piece of work. It provides an uplifting audible backdrop for being present, searching for connection to the divine spark within and to the collective consciousness around us. 

The discovery of inner horizons which mysteriously coincide with the external ones is an ecstatic experience. The realisation of where we really stand in a universal context is both enlightening and soothing. At that magical moment, the hermetic truth unfolds:

"That which is above is like that which is below, and that which is below is like that which is above.."

This genre bending mini album was written and produced in a popup studio during a few months on Lanzarote in early 2021. 

Inspired by the endless horizons, rugged landscapes, the strong presence of elemental forces and sacred geometry patterns carved into everything from vast skies to the smallest volcanic stones. 
The ever changing mural of this magical island holds real healing powers&hellip; The constant sense of infinity instils an awakening effect on one's consciousness and it is remedy for common neurosis and lack of self love.

Inner Horizons is a collection of lullabies for awakening. Soundscapes designed to deepen the human experience.

BIO
Basilisk is the founder of the Ektoplazm label group and distribution portal, co-founder of psychedelic techno label Techgnosis Records, and a veteran DJ with broad musical interests and an uncompromising commitment to quality. More than two decades of experience inform his practice, which emphasizes harmonic mixing theory and open-minded yet meticulous curation. He is currently based in Taipei, Taiwan.

CONCEPT
My intention with this guest mix for Psybient.org is two-fold: to expand the horizons of what we consider "psychedelic downtempo" by exploring a wide range of adjacent and compatible styles of electronic music; and to demonstrate advanced mixing techniques in a chill out set, where many DJs just make brief transitions between tracks.

This mix contains multitudes: ambient and modular dreamscapes, bucolic IDM and futuristic electro breaks, quirky nu-disco workouts, deep and organic house and trance, bubbling acid experiments, shimmering slabs of dub techno, and more than a few references to the origins of psychedelic trance culture on the beaches of South and Southeast Asia. A careful selection of harmonically compatible source material allows for long, layered transitions, sometimes with three or four tracks playing simultaneously. Ideally this creates a sort of auditory illusion where tracks meld together and time collapses, making it effortless to lose yourself in this musical microcosm. Finally, on an emotional level, this mix is often more hopeful and perhaps even inspirational, though it is not without melancholy and sadness at times, a reflection of the global zeitgeist.

'Noosfære’ refers to the sphere of human thought and aims to create musical journeys that allow for - and drive - the exploration of the inner worlds of thoughts, feelings and other mind-bending abstractions of the human mind. It is about tuning into one’s emotional states of being and the transformational process that arises within the listener. 

 Behind 'Noosfære" is the danish music producer Jesper Skovgaard. He holds a Masters Degree in the field of Sound and Music Computing and makes use of field recordings, electronically generated sounds and analogue produced sounds to explore a vast array of expressions in his works. 'Noosfære" is his own little one-man army, and he composes, records and produces all of the material himself.
