Woolfy vs. Projections return from "Stations" back to earth wih a glimpse from the past and a sprarkle of the future. This time they use label co-honcho Benjamin Fröhlich as their vessel, who couldn't help himself but remix two tracks into four different versions. Each remix explores different corners of the rich and ever expanding universe of Dub music. From the more Afro-Caribbean, percussion heavy style, classic Dub- House with delayed stabs and tons of space echo to 90's UK, where Dub first began to flirt with club music. At only 16 years of age Javier Busto jumped into the DJ booth for the first time, mixing the most acid and striking sounds of the moment. Shortly after he began his residency at Saratoga, club clearly stamped his style.
Javier has gone through a broad variety of music styles during his 25 year on the decks , EBM, New Beat, Techno, Trance, House, Deep House, Tech-house. A wide variety of rhythms, melodies and percussion, have always been present in his sets, having evolved over the years into a Dark Disco, Electronic, Slow Techno, New wave, Psycho Disco, Cosmic Disco and other styles with clear touches of electro, acid, without abandoning its melodic and rhythmic essence.
In the 90's has established itself as a resident in renowned clubs like Pacha Villalba, Broker, Boss, Oh! Sierra, and plays various nights in clubs throughout the nation such as Zoo (Pontevedra), Spit Madrid, Archy, Oh! Madrid, Oh! Marbella, Mondino, Area Local(Valencia), Melody (Albacete), and finally took up residence in Jake.

For Sinchi & Friends 65, Italian maestro @Rodion_Gomma joins us. The classical trained DJ / producer now presides in Mexico but can still be found touring all over the world and has a regular flow of both original work and remixes. Get to know the man behind the music below. On the mix in his own words  'This mix features a selection of artists I love and respect, talented friends who I’m lucky to know and support. I come from classical music background and I tend to get bored quite easily with straight up club music. So, even though I dislike the term, my selections have always been quite 'eclectic'.

1) Who are you?

I’m Rodion, real name Edoardo. I’m from Rome, Italy. I started with music quite early: I was 5 when I took my first piano lessons. I released my first EP and album in 2006 (“Atala ride” and “Romantic Jet Dance”) on Gomma records and I have been around since then. I am also half of the Alien Alien duo, together with Hugo Sanchez, who I also run the Roccodisco label. I’m a food and cooking lover. Being Italian I studied at my fundamentalist grandma’s school: fuck Masterchef, fuck pineapple pizza.

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

The best thing that happened to me in the last 12 months was moving from Berlin to Mexico City. I feel really at home in Mexico: I love the sun, the food and the kindness of the people around me. I work with lots of talented musicians here, who also happen to be among my best mates.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

I am currently working with my neighbour and awesome Mexican producer Mijo: we set up a new project called Idolos Futuros and we are playing it live in Mexico and Latin America. No laptop shit, only keys and machines. I love to play live and I find it generally speaking more rewarding than Djing. We are booked at the massive Tropico Festival in Acapulco in December which I'm really looking forward to. Then I guess Rodion will take a small break: I’m one of the very few dinosaur survivors of the early 2k scene and I realize nowadays people focus mostly on what they consider “new” and “hype”. So I am working on my new club music solo project, Cristiano Roberto, and on some much less club focused music. I love classical piano and synth sounds, so I don’t want to waste my entire life focusing on dance music.

You learned that there are genres.
Everything separated into categories with their own canon and rules: Major, minor, 4/4, 6/8, highs, lows, high head, butt end.
Techno here, Disco there. You learned that art and music are two different things. Visually auditory, audio-visual, optically acoustic, not to mention the surface feel.
Listen to me, look at me, touch me. But everything in that order please! You have learned that understanding takes you further.
Night / life, rhythm / dancing, substance / excess, water / holding out, sleep / rest, headache / not good.
But what would it be if all of that wasn't just right? If all of our knowledge is based on the mistake of having to put everything in relation? To classify it, to make it responsive.
What do we do with something that doesn't follow the rules of this logic? That is not based on 0 and 1 and therefore not bound to our binary systems? Is this all at once?
After all, what if the whole thing has no limits?
