Girls Of The Internet return to Luke Solomon’s imprint with the tender house track ‘Affirmations’. Their debut release on Classic in 2017, ‘When U Go’, established the group as ones to watch, and in the six years since they have connected house, soul, disco and garage into one recognisable and modern aesthetic. The sweeping cut features vocals from the experienced and versatile Anelisa Lamola, who established herself in the 2021 musical ‘The Color Purple’ and closed BBC Radio 1’s Dance Weekend the following year. 

‘Affirmations’ was co-written by burgeoning UK soul star Sophie Faith, with soulful lyrics supported by an uplifting string quartet arrangement that leaves a lasting impression. With their 2020 album ‘Girls FM’ gaining support from the likes of Pete Tong and The Blessed Madonna, the house band, spearheaded by Tom Kerridge deliver another striking release on Classic.

Figurehead of Berlin institution Keinemusik Adam Port and Mexican electronic innovator Theus Mago join forces on a collective debut for Defected Records ‘The Dream’. A glowing, otherworldly cut featuring an evocative vocal from Columbian vocalist Martina Camargo, steady beats, intricate percussion and Latin-inspired drum patterns form an irresistible backdrop to her soaring vocal. With a transcendent soulfulness that offsets the tougher elements of the record, the track’s title ‘The Dream’ feels exceptionally fitting, warm and emotive while retaining plenty of dancefloor muscle.

An art few modern house acts have mastered, Oden & Fatzo’s unique ability to traverse genres while maintaining an unmistakable sonic aesthetic makes them one of electronic music’s most dynamic acts. With a rich array of musical influences, their Defected debut ‘Lady Love’ continues to demonstrate their indulgent Parisian house style. Enlisting the vocals of London singer-songwriter Camden Cox, the French trio create a glorious backdrop for her tender top-line, as soft chords, bouncy synths and an irresistible bassline harmonize with Camden’s playful lyricism. A record fitting for the scorching summer ahead, Oden & Fatzo and Camden Cox’s collaboration has all the energy and warmth of a Balearic sunset.

House legend Harry Romero returns with a two-track release on DFTD, bursting with Latin flavour. Following the release of his highly anticipated Defected House Masters compilation at the start of 2023, Romero has continued to develop his driving sound with a number of original releases, including his remix of Roach Motel’s ’94 underground staple ‘Wild Luv’ on Faith. Now returning to DFTD with a bang, the explosion of energy felt in ‘Liquid Samba’ is impressive; chugging rhythms and an insistent vocal call mixes with melodic percussion, effortlessly evoking the sound of the jungle. Similarly, spoken word sections are used to detail ‘The Journey’, building a tropical world using only audio.

After five was designed to make you feel sexy, groovy and a little bit wild. 

Already part of the Life and Death family since “Bey Beh” and “Dale Dale”, @lukealessiofficial ’s music sits in its own lane, refusing to be pigeonholed into any conventional genre. A frequent collaborator of Chloe Caillet, Carlita, Rüfus Du Sol, and many more established talents, 2024 has been a huge year for Alessi, with noticeable DJ debuts from Mexico to Asia via Europe and North America.

Rekids’ REK’D oﬀshoot drop ‘Make A Wish’ this May, the latest single from French artists Boogie Vice and N-You-Up. ‘Make A Wish’ is an energetic cut made for sunny weather, bringing infectious energy and featuring a debut, freestyle vocal from Congolese DJ and pianist Trulybles, who also plays the church organ coming in at the halfway mark, and whose voice shines in both the original and the jacking, club-ready ‘Kinky’ mix.

Boogie Vice is a Paris-born, Cape Town-based DJ and producer known for his groovy house and disco-infused sound, with releases on Ed Banger, Circa99, and CUFF. N-You-Up hails from Southern France, blending jazz, funk, and disco on labels like Nervous Records and Get Physical, while Trulybles is a jazz-trained musician whose hybrid sets fuse live piano and DJing, making his debut vocal appearance on Boogie Vice & N-You-Up’s ‘Make A Wish’ for REK’D.

Matt Edwards launched REK’D in October 2024 to release no-nonsense House music without the limitations of parent label Rekids. It has released dancefloor-ready EPs from artists such as St. David, Odee X, James Juke, James Curd, and more.

Boogie Vice, N-You-Up feat. Trulybles - Make A Wish

Iconic British production duo Groove Armada return to DFTD with a special, four-track remix package spotlighting leaders of the house scene. First up, Scottish tastemaker and international electronic creative Austin Ato lends his unique sound to the instantly recognisable GA classic ‘I See You Baby’; with early support from the likes of A-Trak, Gina Breeze and Melé, Austin’s immense take on the electronic favourite is sure to dominate the coming festival seasons and beyond. Next up, UK tastemakers Nautica flip 2007’s Love Sweet Sound featuring the iconic Candi Staton on vocals, morphing it into a deep, club-ready cut. What follows is a collaborative remix of ‘My Friend’ from Evokings, DOT and simo not simon, uniting the three Brazilian producers and good friends to create a blissed-out remix that celebrates the unique electronic scene of Rio De Janiero. Closing out this four-track package is French Alpine DJ and producer Eliza Bogan’s hard-hitting remix of breakout hit ‘Superstylin’’, with Groove Armada closing the main stage at 2025’s Snowboxx Festival in Avoriaz to an explosive crowd using this very remix.
