Jamie Jones, the world-renowned DJ/producer, label boss of seminal imprint Hot Creations and member of the cross-genre band Hot Natured, launches a new label project this March as he adds a musical side to his longstanding Paradise event series by welcoming Los Angeles’ Dateless for the imprint’s first release.

Building on the lauded success of the brand’s iconic Ibiza events at DC10 and Amnesia, plus shows across the globe and throughout Miami Music Week, ADE and Sonar OFF Week, the label looks set to showcase Jones’ early musical influences and the music behind the party’s roots, while unveiling a glimpse into its future with records made for iconic moments.

Speaking on the concept, Jones notes, “People sometimes ask me why I called the Paradise parties, Paradise… Well, it was named after the Paradise Garage. I’ve always dreamt of what it would be like to attend one of Larry Levan’s famous parties. And when the opportunity to do a party in Ibiza came along, I envisioned an eclectic, colourful party as the morning sun came up filled with different types of people. No one caring about anything except for the unity, the vibe and the journey of the music”.

He adds, “With Paradise records, I wanted to go back to the original vision and release records that can be played in those special moments when the vibe is thick, and the energy is right”.

The first release comes from rising US talent Dateless, following releases via Jones’ own Hot Creations and Hottrax imprints alongside Solid Grooves, VIVa, Saved and his own label Thanks For Sending, as he unveils the vibrant sounds of ‘Geekin’.

‘Geekin’ (my story in a nutshell, if you will) comes from the feeling of necessity. I found myself unmoved by the general house scene, so I started listening closer than ever to the house music that still moved me. One of the artists that helped elevate my craft at the time was Toman; maybe we’ll be friends after this. What do you think, Toman!? Haha. I’m sure those who know me can feel my personality come out in this record. Whatchu know ‘bout this? Huh!” - Dateless.

A funk-fuelled cut combining resonant bass licks, shuffling organic drums and signature hooky vocals, ‘Geekin’ unveils a melting pot of house and disco influences, both new and old, providing visions of sun-soaked terraces and bustling dancefloors.

ALISHA makes an impressive debut outing on Hot Creations with ‘Changes’, backed by a remix from  Chicago house legend Mike Dunn.  

A bubbling name within the UK house landscape for several years, it’s fair to say that 2022 was the year  that ALISHA truly emerged as a surging name of note, dropping stand-out material via Eastenderz and making  appearances at Warehouse Project, Shelter, INPUT and Amnesia for Jamie Jones’ iconic Paradise events. Taking  things up a level as she gets set for an even bigger twelve months, her first release of 2023 comes on Jones and  Lee Foss’ globally renowned Hot Creations with her latest single ‘Changes’ - accompanied by a classy remix from  ever-excellent house music icon Mike Dunn. 

“Hot Creations has always been a dream label for me to release on. ‘Changes’ was written with the  inspiration of the Paradise parties, especially visualising hearing the lead vocal on the famous terrace and  beyond” - ALISHA.  

A warping and driving production armed with tough kicks, rumbling low-ends and squelchy synths, all guided by  the track’s hooky and infectious vocal sample from South Street Player’s iconic 1993 record ‘(Who?) Keeps  Changing Your Mind’, ‘Changes’ is a rugged yet vibrant production geared to keep dancers moving as much as  ALISHA’s own high energy presence in the booth. Switching up the aesthetic and diving deep into a swirling,  soulful journey, Mike Dunn’s remix harnesses the vocal to pair with rich chords for a delightful slice of house music.

James Poole makes his Hot Creations debut with his three-track ‘Miss Tony’ EP, featuring  collaborations with Mizbee and Sugur Shane. 

Hailing from the North of England, DJ/producer James Poole set about following up an early release on Lee Foss’  South Of Saturn with an impressive double header of releases on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax imprint last summer and at  the end of 2022. Marking a big label debut in style, he joins Jones and Foss’ iconic Hot Creations for the first time  as he uncovers a trio of productions spanning a wide-reaching range of influences across his ‘Miss Tony’ EP. 

“Here it is! I’m so excited to share my debut EP on Hot Creations - a label I’ve dreamt of working with  since day one. From eccentric disco vibes, to darker vocal moments, this release is one that I’m really  proud of and I hope you’re all feeling it!” - James Poole. 

A vibrant production guided by provocative vocals, title track ‘Miss Tony’ featuring Sugar Shane, welcomes a  wealth of inspiration from across the house and disco spheres, with resonant sax riffs meeting crisp percussion  and bubbling bass grooves. Next, the low-end heavy ‘Inner Child’ is a garage-soaked heavy-hitter made for the  peak time as a commanding reese bassline is coupled with skippy hats and Mizbee’s infectious vocal hooks,  before ‘Juicy Roots’ closes the show with another energy-fulled production fusing sweeping synths and a  commanding, driving groove.
