Huxley makes his DFTD debut with ‘House It Up’, an expertly sampled outing of vocal house with a serious club groove. Over the course of ten years, Huxley’s versatile sound has seen him grow from rising star to international leader and mentor. From early Boiler Room sets and Defected collabs with Shenoda, to headline appearances at Amnesia Ibiza, then coaching with industry leaders for Mixmasters - there is little Huxley cannot do. His latest release on London club label, ‘House It Up’ demonstrates a cool underground feel, thanks to a distinctive vocal sample underpinned by a hypnotically wonky sub bass that ebbs and flows with ease.

Audiojack’s 90s Dreamin’ EP samples some throwbacks to their youth, when hip-hop featured prominently on the speakers. “We made 90s Dreamin’ as a secret weapon for the end of our own DJ sets, and after a year of airplay and tracklist requests, it’s time to release it. No Biggie is another familiar throwback we made to get the dancefloor moving earlier in a set.”

As one of the most prominent figures in the acid house scene of the late 1980s, Bushwacka!’s impact on the scene is still felt to this day; together with fellow British producer Layo Paskin, the pair helped to shape the sound of UK house, techno and acid by delivering genre-crossing electronic music approaching the new millennium. Bushwacka!’s output remains as cutting edge after 30 years in the biz, recently landing on cult NYC label Nu Groove with four-track EP ‘Back To The Underground’ as well as Luke Solomon’s Classic imprint with ‘Sunday School’. DFTD is proud to unveil What You Want EP, a two-track collection of damagers that demonstrate the work of an innovator; title track ‘What You Want’ firmly delivers a metropolitan cool, voyaging through different moods and eras thanks to intricate percussion choices, while ‘I Dream Of You’ is more understated in its approach, building with quiet intensity and hazy complexity.
