Mind Trip is a new collaborative album with The Future Sound of London — a curated journey drawn from the archives of Mind Maps and Trip Maps. It’s a voyage to the centre of music: ambient currents, fractured rhythms, and cinematic textures braided into a single continuous experience.
The approach
All tracks are rehydrated by Yage, reshaped and reimagined to breathe new life into familiar motifs. The project pulls together touched music artists, folding their original material into expansive soundscapes and reworking each piece so it functions as part of a larger, psychedelic passage. Chillits is an annual outdoor ambient music festival that takes place in the fall in the redwoods of Willits, California. I've never attended in person, but the DJs post their lovely musical sets online as MP3s and Torrents. This music keeps me calm all year, or tries anyway. I suggest starting with the sounds of DF Tram, but I'm biased. He's my favorite ambient DJ, spinning transgenre mixes inspired by and drawing from electronica, jazz, avant-garde classical, and the history of computer music.
