The first cut on Nightflight Records comes from the artists, G-prod and Erell Ranson, both hailing from the land of wine, cheese and the “gilets jaunes”. Both artists have a deep love for Detroit and they combine this soulful D-groove with their own subtle deep touch which results in some wicked Hi-Tech Funk.  G-prod’s “Tell me” is a deep, funky techno track that builds up with warm sounds and brings you in a higher ecstatic state.  Their dubby  “The Rites of Glamounja” will chill you to the bones with its deep and harmony full melodies. Erell Ranson provides two deep electrofunk tracks  “How Dare You” and “We’re Going Deep”and he knows how to mengle the depths of UK electronics with the soul of the US.

The various sides of Melbourne quartet Big Yawn fluctuate neatly across their debut full length ‘No!’.

Subtle dub techno delays combine with live drums on “Attaboi” to formally introduce their clear affectation for the motorik sounds of 70s Deutschland.

Previous single “Skinrat” curiously references off-rhythms and vocal cut ups a la late naughties UK bass music, while abstract jams such as “For Whomst” channel the adventurous live-and-direct sound of Golden Teacher and kindred experimentalist Inga Copeland.

Heavy low-end bass frequencies and twitches of dub fx permeate the LP, shades of post-punk and loopy minimal wave (“Doodle Damage”) contrasting with the more jagged dance orientated moments.

In opting to close ‘No!’ with their most expansive recording (“Body Double”), Big Yawn delve deeper into the tense and ritualistic atmospheres the prior tracks only hint at. The effect seems akin to a snapshot into their lengthy freestyle practice sessions; a process honed and refined here for the LP format.

Until their next outing, the relentless groove of “Anthem X” will keep hips swaying during those sweaty early morning club hours.

„Snuffo in Santanyí“ is a bi-weekly, 2-hour long radio show, hosted by German Electronic Music producer, live act and label owner: Snuffo. The format is recorded in his studio in the village of Santanyí on the island of Mallorca, Spain. 

Guest DJ on the 37th episode is DJ Krime from Berlin. He is the good guy behind Dizzy Tunes, an excellent label for Chicago House and Acid House records. DJ Krime already started his career very early - as a Hip-Hop Battle DJ in 1986! When not releasing, producing or DJing, he also works as a mastering engineer, running his own company Schatz Mastering. His guest mix for „Snuffo in Santanyí“ goes deep into the Acid and beyond.

Inspired by 1950s sci-fi movie soundtracks and sound effects, Upper Regions molds a new release, 'Shadowy Worlds', backed up by a diverse set of remixes that fully ignites this brilliant stark techno effort.

The original mix opens with some dark synth effects as well as some organic, foley-styled sound design.  It builds at a cautious pace, first introducing the signature Upper Regions kick-pounding-on-concrete.  A barrage of spacey effects and percussion loops keep a steady rolling plateau until a tasty synth sequenced bass completes the shadowy scene.

For a nice contrast, Upper Regions includes a luscious techy b-side, 'Transmutation'.  A sectional arrangement unfolds with a series of synthetic pads and stabs, creating some nice harmonic changes that recall early house and rave anthems, but placing them in a stark minimal techno context.

Joel West makes his second appearance on Woodwork and steps up with a killer rendition of 'Shadowy Worlds'.  The energy kicks off from the very start and does not let up.  The synth sequences and effects from the original mix are well placed for deep impact and forward momentum.  The drum tracks are programmed for maximum energy, the entire mix quite ready to rip at the seams.

LectrO cOd_E jumps on board for his first remix effort on the label... and he brings his experimental electro mayhem in full force taking 'Shadowy World' into a freaky futuristic realm.   The sound effects are used to great effect, with some slamming new synth sequences added to his rocket fuel breaks.  Never one to shy away from brash extremities, LectrO cOd_E executes some intense broken down moments throughout a deeply engaging sectional arrangement.  Once you embark on this trip, there is no going back.

Woodwork welcomes back The GOAT for his mind blowing version of 'Shadowy World'.  This one literally sounds like the world is caving in.  From the opening drone, the sounds are beyond intense, and as the track opens up into a monstrous industrial breaks beast, we get a full sense of what makes The GOAT such a powerhouse producer.

Wrapping the package is an unusual revision of 'Shadowy World' by Pablo Splice.  A hybrid electro-latin feel sets an interesting backdrop for some off-center appropriation of the original sounds.  Robotic vocoder hits slot nicely into the syncopated breaks, joined by poly-rhythmic sequences and a subsonic melodic kick pattern that form the central hooks in this huge remix.
