ਹੇ ਰਵਿ ਹੇ ਸਸਿ ਹੇ ਕਰੁਨਾਨਿਧਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਅਬੈ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥
he rav he sas he karunaanidh meree abai binatee sun leejai ||
ਹੇ ਸੂਰਜ! ਹੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ! ਹੇ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ! ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣ ਲਵੋ।
O Surya! O Chandra! O merciful Lord! listen to a request of mine, I am not asking for anything else from you

ਅਉਰ ਨ ਮਾਗਤ ਹਉ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਕਛੁ ਚਾਹਤ ਹਉ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਸੋਈ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
aaur na maagat hau tum te kachh chaahat hau chit mai soiee keejai ||
ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗਦਾ, ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਛਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾ ਉਹੀ (ਪੂਰੀ) ਕਰ ਦਿਓ।
Whatever I wish in my mind, by that with Thy Grace

ਸਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਰਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਜੂਝਿ ਮਰੋ ਕਹਿ ਸਾਚ ਪਤੀਜੈ ॥
sasatran so at hee ran bheetar joojh maro keh saach pateejai ||
ਬਹੁਤ ਵਡੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਲੜ ਮਰਾ', ਸਚ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾ, ਨਿਸਚਾ ਕਰ ਲਵੋ।
If I fall a martyr while fighting with my enemies then I shall think that I have realised Truth

ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਇ ਸਦਾ ਜਗ ਮਾਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਇਹੈ ਵਰੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੧੯੦੦॥
sa(n)t sahai sadhaa jag mai kirapaa kar sayaam ihai var dheejai ||1900||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤਾ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਜਗਤ ਮਾਤਾ! ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਵਰ ਦਿਓ ॥੧੯੦੦॥
O Sustainer of the Universe! I may always help the saints in this world and destroy the tyrants, bestow this boon on me.1900.

ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮਰਣੁ ਕਬੂਲਿ ਜੀਵਣ ਕੀ ਛਡਿ ਆਸ ॥
pahilaa maran kabool jeevan kee chhadd aas ||
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਹੈ—ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ!) ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
First, accept death, and give up any hope of life.

ਹੋਹੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ ਤਉ ਆਉ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
hoh sabhanaa kee renukaa tau aau hamaarai paas ||1||
ਜੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਂ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ (ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਦਾ) ਤਿਆਗ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਕਰੇਂ, ਤੇ (ਸੁਆਰਥ-ਭਰੀ) ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇਂ ।੧।
Become the dust of the feet of all, and then, you may come to me. ||1||

Pauree:

ਜੋ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਬਾਣ ਸਿਉ ਸੋ ਸਭਨੀ ਦੀਬਾਣੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ॥
One who is accepted at the Court of the Lord shall be accepted in courts everywhere.

ਜਿਥੈ ਓਹੁ ਜਾਇ ਤਿਥੈ ਓਹੁ ਸੁਰਖਰੂ ਉਸ ਕੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਡਿਠੈ ਸਭ ਪਾਪੀ ਤਰਿਆ ॥
Wherever he goes, he is recognized as honorable. Seeing his face, all sinners are saved.

ਓਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਮੋ ਪਰਵਰਿਆ ॥
Within him is the Treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Through the Naam, he is exalted.

ਨਾਉ ਪੂਜੀਐ ਨਾਉ ਮੰਨੀਐ ਨਾਇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭ ਹਿਰਿਆ ॥
He worships the Name, and believes in the Name; the Name erases all his sinful mistakes.

ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਇਕ ਚਿਤਿ ਸੇ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਜਗਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥੧੧॥
Those who meditate on the Name, with one-pointed mind and focused consciousness, remain forever stable in the world. ||11||

Dilho Mohabbat Jin Seyi Sacheya, Raag Asa (Ustad Munawar Ali Khan Ji)

Bhai Nand Lal (Punjabi: ਭਾਈ ਨੰਦ ਲਾਲ) (c. 1633-1713), was a poet famous in the Sikh tradition and favourite disciple of Guru Gobind Singh. His poetry, all in Persian except for Joti Bikas, which is in Punjabi, forms part of the approved Sikh canon and can be recited along with scriptural verse at Sikh religious divans. Nand Lal adopted the pen-name of "Goya," though at places he has also subscribed himself as "Lal," the word being the last part of his name. He was a scholar, learned in the traditional disciplines of the time, and his image in Sikh history is that of a man who loved and venerated Guru Gobind Singh and has been in turn loved and venerated by generations of Sikhs.
