There are so many aspects in which Dilla has influenced us as producers. The biggest one for me, though, is the way he would flip a sample. While cats were in the game literally looping 8 bar samples, J fought for ways to truly create something new. 

This track attempts at doing that, along with emulating the other biggest influence in my production, the change up. To leave the listener wanting more is the rarest of art forms, and the way J Dilla did it left some of us in tears. But his beats were more like a train of thought than an actual pre-planned composition. Dr Dre was Rat Pack predictable, american standards and all, but J Dilla was 'Trane, taking the audience with him through his travels in sound.
