STATUE is a live percussion based dance project, the brainchild of Melbourne drummer Tom Gould. Over the past five years he has honed his craft in cult Melbourne bands NO ZU and Worlds End press but now greets the dance world under the moniker STATUE. After featuring in last years Beats In Space -  best of the year list with his debut 12", his second EP ‘Monument' is a reflection of the human and a testament to dance floors both indoor and out. MONUMENT further establishes STATUE as a fixture in Melbourne’s dance music culture, constructed for both warm afternoons and the sweaty early hours of Australian summer.

The EP traverses multiple tempos, creating a world of warm percussive dance floor odysseys arriving parched and thirsty for more at it’s aural peak, Monument. The expedition ends with an expansive remix by Disco Halal king pin and recent ESP Institute alumni, Moscoman.

The resume is that in just 24 hours “In The Night” was born.

Our dear friend Pierre, also known as Da Iguana delivers us a dubby/bluesy psychedelic EP, inspired by an Autumn spent in Amsterdam.

During this trip,  he explored the city, mostly by bike, enjoying its fresh wetness, headphones in the ears. Weird rhythms, electronic synths, bluesy percussions, balkanic influences and guitar were his main tools to create those 3 tracks, with an atmosphere between joy and nostalgia.

On the flip Cardopusher and Calypso Records boss Thomass Jackson step up to rework the originals, with the latter morphing title track 'Organic Time' into a hypnotic driving cut.

There are infinite good reasons why every religion on the planet, and every true Shaman today says that the only way to the light, is by having the love, courage, and action to go into your deepest darkness within you and to face everything you're afraid of facing about yourself. As your darkness is your greatest teacher in the Universe. And your darkness will be there lifetime through lifetime through lifetime through all your incarnations until you have the love, courage, and action to go deep into your darkness.    But of course no church ever teaches these things, even though it is blatantly stated in the scriptures, because churches are total liars as reaching for the light is what creates all the darkness within. As Truth IS Always Paradoxical.
