ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥
 ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾਪੁਰਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The True Guru meditates on the Lord, the Primal Being. The Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, loves the True Guru.

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਾਇ ॥
 (ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Those who join the Sat Sangat, and serve the True Guru - the Guru unites them in the Lord's Union.

ਏਹੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਰਾਇ ॥
 (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਇਕ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ-ਜਹਾਜ਼ (ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
This world, this universe, is a terrifying ocean. On the Boat of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the Guru carries us across.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖੀ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਇ ॥
 (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ) ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ, ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Sikhs of the Guru accept and obey the Lord's Will; the Perfect Guru carries them across.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਧੂੜਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਭੀ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਂਹਿ ॥
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼, ਤਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਜੀਵ ਭੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕੀਏ ।
O Lord, please bless me with the dust of the feet of the Guru's Sikhs. I am a sinner - please save me.

ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲੇਖ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉੱਘੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny written upon their foreheads by the Lord God, come to meet Guru Nanak.

ਜਮਕੰਕਰ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਅਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥
ਉਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੇ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਜਮਦੂਤ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ । (ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Messenger of Death is beaten and driven away; we are saved in the Court of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਨੋ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਤੁਠਾ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨੭॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਕਾਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨੭।
Blessed and celebrated are the Sikhs of the Guru; in His Pleasure, the Lord unites them in His Union. ||27||

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭਏ ਅਰੋਗਾ ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਰੋਏ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ
After taking your cleansing bath, remember your God in meditation, and your mind and body shall be free of disease.

ਕੋਟਿ ਬਿਘਨ ਲਾਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗਾ ॥੧॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ (ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ) ਕੋ੍ਰੜਾਂ ਰੁਕਾਵਟਾਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਅਵਸਰ ਉੱਘੜ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
Millions of obstacles are removed, in the Sanctuary of God, and good fortune dawns. ||1||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
The Word of God's Bani, and His Shabad, are the best utterances.

ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
(ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਹੈ । (ਇਸ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ) ਸਦਾ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ, ਸੁਣਦੇ ਰਹੋ, ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਰਹੋ, (ਜੇ ਇਹ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ (ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਰੁਕਾਵਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
So constantly sing them, listen to them, and read them, O Siblings of Destiny, and the Perfect Guru shall save you. ||Pause||

ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਮਿਤਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗੀ ਮਿਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਹ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ,
The glorious greatness of the True Lord is immeasurable; the Merciful Lord is the Lover of His devotees.

ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਆਦਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਉਹ (ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ) ਰੱਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਉਹ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
He has preserved the honor of His Saints; from the very beginning of time, His Nature is to cherish them. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਨਿਤ ਭੁੰਚਹੁ ਸਰਬ ਵੇਲਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਸਦਾ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ ।
So eat the Ambrosial Name of the Lord as your food; put it into your mouth at all times.

ਜਰਾ ਮਰਾ ਤਾਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਾਠਾ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ) ਨਾਹ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਨਾ ਮੌਤ ਆਵੇਗੀ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ ।੩।
The pains of old age and death shall all depart, when you constantly sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. ||3||

ਸੁਣੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ, (ਕੋ੍ਰੜਾਂ ਵਿਘਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਪੂਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
My Lord and Master has heard my prayer, and all my affairs have been resolved.

ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਈ ਸਗਲੇ ਜੁਗ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੪॥੧੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਅਜ਼ਮਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਉੱਘੜ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।੪।੧੧।
The glorious greatness of Guru Nanak is manifest, throughout all the ages. ||4||11||

ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
Siree Raag, Fourth Mehla:

ਹਉ ਪੰਥੁ ਦਸਾਈ ਨਿਤ ਖੜੀ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਸੇ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ (ਤਾਂਘ ਵਿਚ) ਖਲੋਤੀ ਹੋਈ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਦਾ) ਰਾਹ ਪੁੱਛਦੀ ਹਾਂ (ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਲੋਚਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ) ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸ ਪਾਏ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਪਹੁੰਚਾਂ 
I stand by the wayside and ask the Way. If only someone would show me the Way to God-I would go with him.

ਜਿਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਪੀਛੈ ਲਾਗਿ ਫਿਰਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਸਤਿਸੰਗੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ) ਨੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਤਰਲਾ ਕਰਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗੀ ਫਿਰਾਂ,
I follow in the footsteps of those who enjoy the Love of my Beloved.

ਕਰਿ ਮਿੰਨਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਜੋਦੜੀ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਣੈ ਕਾ ਚਾਉ ॥੧॥
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਤਰਲਾ ਕਰਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗੀ ਫਿਰਾਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਹੈ ।੧।
I beg of them, I implore them; I have such a yearning to meet God! ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਜਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਧਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿਉ 
O my Siblings of Destiny, please unite me in Union with my Lord God.

ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
(ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੌਣ ਮਿਲਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ?) ਮੈਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੋ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
I am a sacrifice to the True Guru, who has shown me the Lord God. ||1||Pause||

ਹੋਇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਢਹਿ ਪਵਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
(ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਮਾਨ ਆਸਰਾ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਵਾਂ 
In deep humility, I fall at the Feet of the Perfect True Guru.

ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ-ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, (ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ 
The Guru is the Honor of the dishonored. The Guru, the True Guru, brings approval and applause.

ਹਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਨ ਰਜਊ ਮੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਰੱਜਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ । ਗੁਰੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ-ਪਾਸ-ਹੀ-ਵੱਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲਾਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ ।੨।
I am never tired of praising the Guru, who unites me with the Lord God. ||2||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੋ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਜੇਤਾ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
ਜਿਤਨਾ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਹੈ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਤਾਂਘਦਾ ਹੈ
Everyone, all over the world, longs for the True Guru.

ਬਿਨੁ ਭਾਗਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਨਾ ਥੀਐ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਬਹਿ ਰੋਇ ॥
ਪਰ ਚੰਗੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ) । (ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੁੜ ਕੇ) ਮੰਦ-ਭਾਗਣ ਜੀਵ‑ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਬੈਠੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹ
Without the good fortune of destiny, the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is not obtained. The unfortunate ones just sit and cry.

ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣਾ ਸੋ ਥੀਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੩॥
(ਪਰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ ?) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਧੁਰੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਮਿਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ।੩।
All things happen according to the Will of the Lord God. No one can erase the pre-ordained Writ of Destiny. ||3||

ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ 
He Himself is the True Guru; He Himself is the Lord. He Himself unites in His Union.

ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲਸੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੀਛੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
 ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਲੜ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ
In His Kindness, He unites us with Himself, as we follow the Guru, the True Guru.

ਸਭੁ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਜਗਿ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਲੁ ਜਲਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੪॥੬੮॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! ਜਗਤ (ਦੇ-ਜੀਵਾਂ)-ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਉਂ ਇਕ-ਮਿਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਪਾਣੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੪।੬੮।
Over all the world, He is the Life of the World, O Nanak, like water mingled with water. ||4||4||68||
