Wadahans, First Mehla:

ਆਵਹੁ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ ਸਚੜਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਏਹਾਂ ॥
aavahu milahu saheleeho sachaRaa naam lehaa(n) ||
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ! (ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਸੱਜਣੋ!) ਆਓ, ਰਲ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੀਏ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰੀਏ । 
Come, O my companions - let us meet together and dwell upon the True Name.

ਰੋਵਹ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਤਨ ਕਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੰਮ੍ਹਾਲੇਹਾਂ ॥
roveh birahaa tan kaa aapanaa saahib sa(n)m(h)aalehaa(n) ||
ਆਓ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਨਾਲ ਚੇਤਾ ਕਰੀਏ, (ਉਹ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰੀਏ । 
Let us weep over the body's separation from the Lord and Master; let us remember Him in contemplation.

ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਲਿਹ ਪੰਥੁ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਹ ਅਸਾ ਭਿ ਓਥੈ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
saahib sam(h)aaleh pa(n)th nihaaleh asaa bh othai jaanaa ||
ਆਓ, ਅਸੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈਏ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੱਕੀਏ (ਜਿਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਸਭ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) । ਅਸਾਂ ਭੀ (ਆਖ਼ਿਰ) ਉਸ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ 
Let us remember the Lord and Master in contemplation, and keep a watchful eye on the Path. We shall have to go there as well.

ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਲੀਆ ਹੋਆ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
jis kaa keeaa tin hee leeaa hoaa tisai kaa bhaanaa ||
(ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਰੋਣਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ) ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸੇ ਨੇ ਜਿੰਦ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ।
He who has created, also destroys; whatever happens is by His Will.

ਜੋ ਤਿਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਆਇਆ ਅਸੀ ਕਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਕਰੇਹਾ ॥
jo tin kar paiaa su aagai aaiaa asee k hukam karehaa ||
। ਇਥੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕੀਤਾ, (ਮਰਨ ਤੇ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਇਸ ਰੱਬੀ ਨਿਯਮ ਅੱਗੇ) ਸਾਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਦਾ ।
Whatever He has done, has come to pass; how can we command Him?

ਆਵਹੁ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ ਸਚੜਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਏਹਾ ॥੧॥

(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ! ਆਓ, ਰਲ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੀਏ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰੀਏ ।੧।

ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈਹੋ ਸਭਨਾ ਏਹੁ ਪਇਆਣਾ ॥
saahib simarahu mere bhaieeho sabhanaa eh piaanaa ||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ! (ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ) ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੋ । (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਤੋਂ) ਇਹ ਕੂਚ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ । 
Meditate in remembrance on the Lord and Master, O my Siblings of Destiny; everyone has to pass this way.

ਏਥੈ ਧੰਧਾ ਕੂੜਾ ਚਾਰਿ ਦਿਹਾ ਆਗੈ ਸਰਪਰ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
ethai dha(n)dhaa kooRaa chaar dhihaa aagai sarapar jaanaa ||
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਝੂਠਾ ਆਹਰ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਹੈ, (ਹਰੇਕ ਨੇ ਹੀ) ਇਥੋਂ ਅਗਾਂਹ (ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ । 
These false entanglements last for only a few days; then, one must surely move on to the world hereafter.

ਆਗੈ ਸਰਪਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਜਿਉ ਮਿਹਮਾਣਾ ਕਾਹੇ ਗਾਰਬੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
aagai sarapar jaanaa jiau mihamaanaa kaahe gaarab keejai ||
ਇਥੋਂ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ (ਹਰੇਕ ਨੇ) ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਥੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਅਸੀ ਪਰਾਹੁਣਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ, (ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਧਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ) ਮਾਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ । 
He must surely move on to the world hereafter, like a guest; so why does he indulge in ego?

Saarang, Fifth Mehla:

ਪੋਥੀ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਕਾ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
pothee paramesar kaa thaan ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ (ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ । 
This Holy Book is the home of the Transcendent Lord God.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saadhasa(n)g gaaveh gun gobi(n)dh pooran braham giaan ||1|| rahaau ||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Whoever sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, has the perfect knowledge of God. ||1||Pause||

ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਸਗਲ ਮੁਨਿ ਲੋਚਹਿ ਬਿਰਲੇ ਲਾਗੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
saadhik sidh sagal mun locheh birale laagai dhiaan ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ, ਸਾਰੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ-ਮੁਨੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ) ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਜੁੜਦੀ ਹੈ ।
The Siddhas and seekers and all the silent sages long for the Lord, but those who meditate on Him are rare.

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
jiseh kirapaal hoi meraa suaamee pooran taa ko kaam ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਇਹ) ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
That person, unto whom my Lord and Master is merciful - all his tasks are perfectly accomplished. ||1||

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥
jaa kai ridhai vasai bhai bha(n)jan tis jaanai sagal jahaan ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਖਿਲਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ।
One whose heart is filled with the Lord, the Destroyer of fear, knows the whole world.

ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਤੇ ਇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੨॥੯੦॥੧੧੩॥
khin pal bisar nahee mere karate ih naanak maa(n)gai dhaan ||2||90||113||
 (ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਦਾਨ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ) ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ) ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਵਿਸਰ ।੨।੯੦।੧੧੩।
May I never forget You, even for an instant, O my Creator Lord; Nanak begs for this blessing. ||2||90||113||

Singing His Praises, love wells up within the devotee, and the trap of Maya is broken. ||1||

The Lord, the ocean of mercy, is all-pervading, permeating everywhere; I do not see any other at all.
