Aho Ssan is the artist name of Paris based Niamké Désiré. After studying graphic design and cinema, he began to com-pose electronic music and create his own digital instruments. Shortly thereafter he went on to win the Foundation France television prize for his soundtrack to the film of Ingha Mago in 2015 and has worked on several projects related to IRCAM/GRM in France. His debut LP «Simulacrum» was released on the 7th of February 2020 via Subtext Recordings.Based on the concept of Jean Baudrillard, it navigates through society’s presentation of inclusivity and equality against my own experience of growing up black in France.

Spurred on by the acuteness of current global events, we are raising our voices in solidarity with the oppressed, the tortured, the silenced, and the unheard. The events that shake Palestine and Israel are resulting in an ever-tighter spiral of violence and desperation. They are a horrific wake-up call that brutally brings the precarious situation on our planet to the fore. The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinian civilians are intolerable. On top of that, the military actions threaten the lives of the remaining hostages in the Gaza-Strip, and even more innocent people in Gaza.

Mike Paradinas doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, having helmed Planet Mu since electronica's breakthrough years while weaving his own idiosyncratic path through various strains of braindance along the way. Still, when he delivers an album it feels like an occasion, and Grush maintains the pace with a spectacular reflection on the broader sonic ideas he's been toying with for nigh on three decades. This album was crafted with live energy in mind - some tracks were written in the aftermath of particular gigs, some were written specifically to be played out - and the arc of the album is intended to evoke the flow of a live set. Along the way his instinct for sparkling melodies and needlepoint drum programming shine through, nailing a vibe between classic nostalgia and restless innovation like only he can.

Where does a person actually start to be themselves? For her third album, The Essence Of, Belia Winnewisser crawled into the rabbit hole in search of the origin of herself or of a certain kind of music. She found the origin of this, that, and then the origin of the origin, and then... No musical genre comes from nothing, no human being exists in isolation – these are the essences that the Zurich musician, after crawling out again into the clear light of day, was able to capture for herself. The Essence Of is a selfportrait that looks even further back into her own history than the previous releases. Memories of playful childhood days live on in moods and melodies drawn from the game Zelda. Impressions from movies and appreciations from life underpin the emotional layers of the seven (+1) tracks. Listening experiences across musical styles transport you to the UK of the early 90s or to quirky minimal floors 15 years later. And her most original musical experience is absolutely essential. Her voice breathes, floats, dabs and sings its way through the album and points deep inside. The Essence Of makes it clear: origins are not fixed places or points in time, but dynamic. The point at which something or someone begins shifts a little with every interpersonal encounter and every listen. The Essence Of is Belia Winnewisser's first album for the Cologne-based label SPA, on which she has already released the EP A Comet Blazing In the Empyrean (2020) and the track I Like Ferrofluid (2019 part of the compilation Safe Needing Attention).

Besides organizing events, they present themselves as a music label. Their aesthetic ranges from metamodern internetculture to endeavours into spiritual ambiences contaminated with strikingly metallic club environments.

Koehler was hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky. This is his first offering for the ESP Institute. Side A recalls the hazy memory of an ear-worm chant heard over a decade ago on the streets of Thailand, a melody that since haunted the artist and has finally been exorcised by his own hand in the shape of 'Melencolia V'. Somewhere between an enchanted bashment and a sailor’s watering hole, Koehler found a gargantuan kick drum that lands solely on the 4, slammed it together with a wide pulsing bassline and brutalized Dancehall snare, then laced it all up with his elusive synth melody. Add to this a generous sprinkle of finely-ground cosmic dust and we’re all tripping the light fantastic. On the flip side, the artist buckles up for a rough and rapid-paced journey with 'Invidiosa' — a relentless snare scrapes, gouges and corrodes over 7 minutes, coupling with a simplistic bass loop and swiftly marauding through a demented assembly line, accumulating various nuts and bolts of instrumentation along the way — an undeniable dancefloor exciter for those hours when the club becomes unhinged, dancing becomes raving, and slightly more audacious folk can channel their inner truth. These two songs will have you question your existence.
