Dial records is excited to announce Dial76 - four remixes for Lawrence‘s recent album "Illusion" with contributions by Shinedoe, Tracey, Trux and Carsten Jost. Amsterdam based Shinedoe, who’s productions have been widely admired and played by Dial DJs from Lawrence to Efdemin since her earliest releases, provides a warmly enchanting Techno version of "Crystal". Also from Amsterdam and newest addition to the Dial Records stable is Tracey who’s debut record "Biostar" was released on Dial earlier this year. His uptempo electro construct integrates the sounds of the original effortlessly into his own narrative. Mysterious producer Trux impressed with his concept album "Orbiter" on Avenue 66 last year and delivers an exciting ambient track with reminiscences of a shadowy beat. Lastly the traditional contribution of a remix by Dial Records co-founder Carsten Jost rounds up the lineup with a warm Rhodes driven House version of "Transitions".

After his stunning debut album, Tracey invites his friends and favorite producers to create this wonderful package of remixes.
With Sterac aka Steve Rachmad a star from Amsterdam's vibrant Techno scene contributes two incredible remixes to the EP. Darling is a longtime collaborator and friend who shares a studio with Tracey, and their magical collection of analogue synthesizers. Equally obsessed with machines is another neighbor, Jordan GZR, who is most well known for his multi- instrumentalist formations Magic Mountain High and Juju & Jordash. Last but not least Dial Records co-owner Lawrence takes a stand and rounds up the last release in 2019.

Dial warmly welcomes Soela to be the first album release in 2020, the 20th anniversary year of the label and the latest addition to their artist’s roster. Soela’s debut Album Genuine Silk is an exploration into the deepest shades contemporary and House Music and Ambient. With a continuous stream of essential compositions, Soela creates a mesmerising undertow of enchanting atmospheres and moods. 
Soela aka Elina Shorokhova is a wanderer, passing through cities, clubs, landscapes and genres that all left unmistakable traces on this release. Genuine Silk marks the end of a three year long journey that started in Rostov-on-Don and ultimately led to a new life for her in Berlin. Three years that saw acclaimed and celebrated releases on record labels like Kompakt, Detroit Underground and Nerang Recordings.

After the release of Soela's debut album Genuine Silk (April 24th), and an upcoming XDB album in September, our jubilee compilation DIAL 2020 will be the ongoing companion throughout our 20th anniversary year. Our favorite artists will be presented on a series of releases- first in digital formats and finally as a very special vinyl edition. 

With DIAL 2020 PT.1 (May 22nd) we're thrilled to announce the stunning works of Lanoche, Molly, XDB, Joey Anderson, Mary Yalex and Sohrab. All of them gifted us with their most incredible tracks, some truly exciting birthday presents! We can't wait to announce the next compilation round, to come out in early summer.

In utter disbelief of years gone by at light-speed, we are overjoyed (and slightly shocked) to announce the 20th anniversary of Dial Records.
When Dial was founded in Hamburg around the turn of the Millenium we envisioned it as an experimental platform for a musical dialog among close friends - never would we have then thought it would last that long.
Today Dial is like an ongoing diary for us documenting all these years across over a hundred releases, all the countless collaborations with artists and new friends we have made along the way.
In 2020 we would like to take a further look into the future. After the release of Soela's album Genuine Silk (April 24th) and the upcoming XDB debut album in September, our jubilee compilation DIAL 2020 will be the frequent companion throughout the anniversary year. With DIAL 2020 (II) (July 10th) we're thrilled to announce the stunning works of Christopher Ledger, Soela, Whodat, Yone-ko, Jacques Bon & Drux and Carsten Jost. Again we're blessed with outstanding productions by some of our favorite producers and a rare contribution of label founder Carsten Jost.
Throughout the entire year, we will be open for all kinds of media, documentaries, interviews and label stories. A publication documenting the visual endeavors of Dial Records will shine a light on that very crucial part of the label's history and will be released towards the fall of 2020.

With the re-release of Phillip Sollmann’s “something is missing”, Dial Records presents a true milestone in it’s 20 years history. Finally available for digital download and streaming along with a limited  tape edition, it is the first conceptual album by the artist, originally released on Compact Disc in 2006. Phillip Sollmann recorded the five pieces  over two years, inspired by a new thinking of sound in space, while studying computer music at the Viennese University.

Besides countless releases under his Techno moniker Efdemin on Naif, Ostgut Ton and Dial Records, Phillip Sollmann dedicates large parts of his artistic life to contemporary and experimental music. After appearances on several Eps, such as “The Pyramid Drift” (Dial Records, 2009), collaborations with John Gürtler (“Gegen Die Zeit, Sky Walking, 2015”), Konrad Sprenger and Oren Ambarchi (“Panama / Suez”, 2018) and his solo project “Monophonie” (2017-2020), Phillip Sollmann currently works on the Modular Organ System. Here again he improves a very specific approach to drone composition, a practice that started with the cyclical & shimmering tones of  “something is missing”.

Once upon a time, two operators stared at their screens. They sat silently for hours, their whole being dedicated to the task they had been assigned to. Days and nights passed in the same monotonous manner.

Suddenly signals showed up on their monitors. Alarms started to ring.

Both reacted at the same speed and did what they were supposed to do. Controls and commands were entered, as was protocol. After observing these waves for 61:01 minutes, everything became quiet again.

What they had just witnessed made them wonder. For the first time they addressed each other. "The data is transferring through our system," announced the first. “Let us both check how this can be interpreted.” The second validated the response. Together, they looked at what had been recorded. Ideas raced through their complicated minds until they realized simultaneously: sounds! They listened.

“Is this an unknown language?” one asked
“This is the first time this has been heard throughout our history,” the other answered.
They listened again and again.
“This electricity has been arranged to form a cohesive entity,” the first said.
“Why would machines be used to create that?” the second mused.
Something had awakened inside of them, an obsessive curiosity they had never experienced before. They did not understand and were blown away by the beauty of it.
“Do you think it could have been left by humans before us?” one whispered.
“If it was, these would be Major Signals,” the other concluded.
As they processed these thoughts, the two artificial intelligences sat still.

Irakli was born in Georgia when the country was still a part of the Soviet Union. He moved to Cologne before ending up in Berlin a decade ago and has been an active and interesting voice in the electronic music and club landscape of the city. First as a DJ and producer behind the I/Y and Intergalactic Research Institute For Sound labels, but also as one of the minds behind the STAUB collective. His artistic endeavors have brought him to contribute to books, exhibitions and movies. He has performed with classical orchestras and worked with artists and thinkers from all fields. He hasn’t been afraid to take a stance politically - in 2019 he collaborated with fellow Georgian producer Michailo whilst he was imprisoned. But most importantly, he loves the music, making it, sharing it, listening to it, dancing to it, and now he is presenting us with his first album on Dial.
