À Anvers, premiers opéras publics au Schouwburgh van de Oude Voetboog. En Angleterre, Samuel Pepys note une visite à l'opéra le 4 novembre. Œuvres clés : opéras Il Ciro crescente (Bertali), Ercole in Tebe (Melani), Gl'amori infruttuosi di Pirro (Sartorio) ; Flatt Consort (Locke), Becker Psalter révisé (Schütz).
