One night I drove by a blind guy standing on the curb. I turned around to go back and help him cross the street or whatever he needed and when I got to him we talked for a while then suddenly he decided He had waited long enough and started to cross a major street with traffic in both directions. I went with him and started flagging down traffic to stop them. Eventually once he had shuffled almost all the way across He stopped in the middle of a lane and said "I'm staying put." After a while of waiting I asked him why He stopped here, He said "If I stand on the curb no one would stop to help me, so I'm stayin' put."
