Well apart from an over excited Data Transmission office a stonker of a podcast would be our answer as the two D&B dons have joined forces to provide this weeks exclusive mix for your listening pleasures.

It’s Kasra’s second appearance on our podcast series having previously wowed us with a solo outing back in 2010 and comes ahead of this years much anticipated #CriticalSound Christmas party which sees Kasra and co. return to London for a very special one off even on December 20. Globally recognised as a major proponent within drum & bass, Bryan Gee’s long since made his mark on music. Frankly his name will forever be aligned with the d&b genre considering that he founded a seminal label, in V Recordings, and ran a seminal dance with his scene sculpting Movement party. As a label head, Gee’s helped bring through a slew of producers whose names are now also just as ingrained into the DNA of drum & bass - people like Roni Size, Krust and Die from Bristol and DJ Marky and XRS from Brazil – but, somewhat importantly, he’s also never let up. Running multiple labels at the same time (V, Liquid V, Philly Blunt and Chronic) whilst pulling numerous strings behind the scenes as a radio broadcaster, promoter, A&R and more, what’s always been obvious is his enthusiasm and deep seated love of the form.

Performing in Room Two alongside another musical legend, LTJ Bukem and a smothering of other talents on Friday 30th January, he’s kindly prefixed the event by making us a 45 minute mixtape that aims to reacquaint you with his style, warm you up for a week on Friday and learn you a little something in the process. Honestly, it’s testament to his career and his influence that he’s able to do all three and make it look - and feel - effortless.
