I wrote this song during my quarter life crisis.

It's about the discontent of working a 9-5 job in the short, precious life we have, and the wish that we could instead spend all of it engaging in our passions (for me, that's music — which I grew up unfairly being taught by family and culture that it is an "inappropriate" career path).

This song means a is about the unfairness of growing up as a Middle Eastern girl with the learned belief that my value is determined by how I look like. And that without fulfilling my duty of getting married and having children, I would be a failure in the eyes of my culture and family.

Pretty Girls

This song represents the post-breakup dichotomy of 1) feeling like you can’t move on without that one person you gave your whole heart to 2) but realizing that you drip fuc*ing gold and it’s their loss if they couldn’t see it in you. 👑
