Part 1 - Intimate Expanses - a Sound Montage. This first part of the museum audio to accompany 'Intimate Expanses - Voices for the Colorado Plateau' is designed to be listened to while viewing the exhibit of artists' work at the Museum of Northern Arizona. In it, the voices of artists involved with a Grand Canyon Trust artist retreat at Kane Ranch in October 2017 ' are mingled with ambient sounds recorded at Kane Ranch and elsewhere on the Colorado Plateau. Sounds include the wind, pinyon jays, coyotes, a ranch gate, a water tank, a canyon wren and fragments of the poem ‘Wild Love’ by Mary Oliver, read by Darcy Faulk. Artist voices in order of appearance are: Erica Fareio, Rebecca Nordstrom, Elizabeth Bonzani, Barbara Gartin, Darcy Falk and Shawn Skabelund. Photo by Meredith Meeks.
