I don’t think there is a person on the scene in Yorkshire (possibly the North) that doesn’t know who Foz is! Certainly in Leeds anyway. A seriously prolific promoter who is a friend to many, doing his thing in a city where many of us earnt our stripes on its various illustrious dancefloors. A dear old friend who certainly knows his stuff. It’s an absolute honour to have you mate…

Sebastian Getz descended on Oslo, fairly inconspicuously, the German producer and DJ’s humble demeanour and approachable personality an extension of the music he creates under the Moomin moniker. Eager to talk about German Hip-Hop and MPCs, we found that amiable character, the same we found in this interview from last week, but which is best expressed through music. He brought a set to Jæger with a focus on the aesthetics of his own productions: Visceral legato pads and strings anchored in the depths of deep-house and the focus on the groove. We were on hand to record his set, and now you can listen back to what transpired last Frædag.

This Mixtape (The Pride Show) has been completed in loving memory of the late Christopher Tosney AKA Tozz 180 1972-2011. may he rest in peace!! these recordings are the last recordings he had to offer the world. known and remembered by many in the city of Leeds (UK) as a true Legend of Emceeing.

"So I've decided to go deep on this one, less club orientated and more warmup vibes. I picked out a load of records from my collection, pressed record, had a mix and this is it. There was no planning involved apart from just to keep it deep as possible, so more of the B sides than A. I have been a resident at DC10 for 7 years now and I'm usually on warmup duties which I have always loved. Getting the chance to play records you can't really play at a peak time slot. So here is my mix and I hope you enjoy it."

For our fourth #IWD2020 mix, we have one of the biggest up and comers of the last few years, Sally C. If recent times have taught us anything, it’s that @sallycberlin isn’t messing about. The Belfast-born, Berlin-based DJ has stamped herself as one of the most exciting new artists on the scene, thanks wholly to her inspired selector skills. Sally developed her craft while living in Scotland where she went to study, running a night at Dundee hotspot The Reading Rooms. 

She moved to Berlin in 2015 and etched out a spot in the thriving club hub, throwing parties at Griessmuehle and her own open-air raves, all the while building a fanbase for her raw and chunky style. She will also be making starting waves with her own productions, set to be self released just before summer. Her IWD mix oozes eclectic selections and killer club cuts and is one not to miss.
