PREMIERE: Thernero - Ride It (Nero's Deep Dub Ride)

Christian acquired his love of electronic while growing up in the UK. It wasn’t until he moved to New York, however, that he would attend his first underground party and find the sound that would capture him and inspire him to step behind the decks himself. Since then, Christian has become a staple of the underground scene, a party enthusiast, and an avid techno tourist.

After some time as a free agent, Christian’s sophisticated taste in music earned him a residency for Bespoke Musik where he has entranced audiences with thoughtful, layered DJ sets. His music blends a focus on the low end frequencies with a melodic, sometimes melancholic touch. The end result is just as suited to a nightclub dancefloor as a desert sunset, with enough versatility for everything in between.

Some of his notable bookings include Gazgolder and Leveldva in Moscow, Café D’ Anvers in Antwerp, Sisyphos in Berlin, Output and Cityfox in Brooklyn, Do Not Sit on the Furniture and The Electric Pickle in Miami, and Robot Heart and the 747 at Burning Man. With the upcoming creation of Bespoke Musik’s record label in early 2021, expect to hear Christian’s first original productions, as well as a preview of his upcoming music project.

Tagavaka is a music and art project coming out of Scotland, UK. Tagavaka means to drift away, in search of love, adventure, or closure. Tagavaka embodies the idea of searching or seeking something, and the music is the companion to it as part of that journey.

Ivan Hall Barrientos, the producer and composer behind Tagavaka, has a rich background in music – a classically trained pianist-turned-music producer who has been involved in the creation of various music projects that have amassed over 100,000,000 streams globally.

After self-releasing his debut EP ‘Tagavaka’ in 2020, the project has since gained the attention of dance music titans Anjunadeep – signing 6 tracks in one fell swoop. With tracks included in their flagship compilation series at the start of 2021, Tagavaka released his debut EP ‘Extrapolate’ which piqued the interest from the likes of Eli & Fur, Lane 8, and Alan Fitzpatrick.

Since then, further releases (Water EP, Bijou EP, and Sun Rings EP) gained Tagavaka debut performances supporting Max Cooper, and performing at the unique Anjunadeep Explorations festival.

Tagavaka is supported by PRS Foundation's The Open Fund.

After many years of curating dance mixes and performing live sets, I am thrilled to present my first Ambient Set, created especially for the opening of my intimate festival, Circle of Life. This set marks a significant departure from my usual high-energy performances, allowing me to explore a more introspective and serene soundscape.

The journey of crafting this set has been profoundly inspiring, deeply emotional, and immensely creative. Each track has been chosen with care, weaving together a tapestry of sounds that invites you to plant an intention, breathe deeply, and connect with your roots. It's an invitation to prepare your body and mind for a transformative dance experience.

Through this music, I hope to offer a space for reflection and reconnection with your inner self. Let the gentle waves of sound wash over you, guiding you on a journey back to your soul.

Thank you for joining me on this new adventure. May this Ambient Set bring you peace, inspiration, and a deeper connection to yourself and the world around you.

Heavily influenced since childhood by legendary electronic music bands such as The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Lamb, Massive Attack, Underworld, Aphex Twin, Orbital, Hybrid, Way Out West, Global Communication and then pioneers such as Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Anthony Pappa, Danny Tenaglia, Satoshi Tomiie, Frankie Knuckles, Kerri Chandler, Larry Heard a.k.a. Mr. Fingers, Josh Wink, Kevin Saunderson to name but a few... I felt true attraction, discovered and ultimately fell completely in love with the DJ-craft or as I like to call it "the art of musical storytelling". It's been almost 25 years since this love runs through my veins and keeps growing as it's been fuelled by the incomparable feeling of sharing those inner experiences with like-minded people and fellow music lovers.

About my work – attention to detail in order to attain perfection in my studio mixes and live sets. I'm always looking for innovation and diversity. Trying to make a difference and leave my mark by always presenting something new, perceived as "outside the box", something that doesn't necessarily appeals to the masses but for those who share a deeper understanding and appreciation for the music in its richness. That is why my sets combine multiple flavors of carefully chosen underground electronic sound. Perfectionism concerning mix and music selection has always been a must and it can be easily sensed in my work, particularly when it comes to my studio projects. In other words, by following the latest currants of the vast field of my beloved electronic music while also by always recalling past moments of its long history that lead me to what I am presently, my focus goes to extracting the best material and putting it into a memorable musical trip that comes from the heart and shouldn't let you stay indifferent...
