Antoni Maiovvi - Generous Degenerate

Paul Ives Barceló Cruz, an upcoming artist from Salina Cruz, Oaxaca and based In Cholula, Puebla, brings us his debut and most expected Ep «Máquina Eterna». Ives makes an interesting approach in his home label with a total different sound in each one of his tracks. This work is a result of an uncertain confinement time. The content of this material have two original tracks and two intense remixes with the very own Undefined Pattern's style.

The sounds which compose «Máquina Eterna» range among what could be Electro-Industrial, defining feelings of desperation and inquisitiveness that consumed Ives' will throughout pandemic days.
This work is composed by a variety of influences, such as Death metal, outstanding fast and distorted sounds, making a raw and heavy perception in each track's ambiance.

The first track is the Ep's homonymous which develops in a sequence of industrial metallic and deep sounds, drilling synths with a psychedelic fine touch.
Titled as "Toma De Poder" the second track is influenced by the sinister outlook of resistance and conflict in today's Mexico society. Adding a vocal with a sense of political speech and a bass line that blends into a dark atmosphere of desolation throughout the whole track.

Are we destined to prevail united man and machine? «Máquina Eterna» is reborn in two different versions by producer Fernando V. a.k.a Undefined Pattern preserving the harshness and darkness that the original track precedes, the first remix giving us a more raw, dystopian version, with a resonant bassline, always keeping the same melodic line. Six minutes of a journey into the look of the technological future.

For the second remix things speed up and take a rougher turn. Dissonant and distorted drums, changing melodies and sound textures are part of the ingredients of the dub mix. Ideal for late peak nights…

Wellen.Brecher is an inclusive band that emerged from the Killekill’s Berlin-based project Ick Mach Welle. It consists of Werner Soyeaux aka Bläck Dävil, Uwe Locati aka DJ Locati, Dave Senan aka Senator and Hanni Kusch, a member of the German punk band Pisse. After a very busy year 2022 with touring, the band are ready to bring you their debut EP “Hitmaschine”. Included on the release is “Lasst Uns Feiern”, the band's "Anthem", a banging rave influenced mega-hit that manages to hit-hard and deep while keeping the overall vibe happy and fun. For his remix, The Hacker radically cuts things back while adding a hefty portion of 90s hardcore to deliver you another “hit”.
On the B side, band member DJ Locati strikes sonorous notes with his vocals, spread over a base of hypnotic acid trance and progressively developing into a deep dive down into a rave tunnel. Rounding out the record is a guest appearance by the band 21Downbeat. Their reinterpretation of Wellen.Brecher's Tierisch Verboten (which was released as the opener of the "Superbrains" compilation on Killekill) brings a healthy dose of smashing new-wave to the proceedings. Finally, as a digital bonus track, Furfriend goes one even further with a gritty techno remix of Brummbär.

Music and solidarity have been walking hand in hand for quite some time. The number of events and releases devoted to bringing relief to those in need is simply countless, and more than ever now during the last crazy years we have been immersed in.

This one may draw your attention: The Berlin-based KEYI MAGAZINE put together an impressive forty-four-track (🤯) multi-genre charity compilation featuring not only acclaimed and established but also rising and aspirant artists – just to name a few: Ellen Allien, Chloe Lula, Curses, David Carretta, Que Sakamoto (SXDNS320) & NT, Neu Romancer, Franz Scala, Skelesys (SXDNS139), Melania., and Flavia Laus delivered insightful works for the beautiful initiative.

All the proceeds will be donated to two remarkable institutions: The White Helmets (https://www.whitehelmets.org/en/), who tirelessly strive to provide aid and assistance in conflict zones, and the Welthungerhilfe (https://www.welthungerhilfe.de/), dedicated to combating hunger and poverty worldwide.

The track we chose to premiere was made with love by San Francisco-born Berlin-based artist Chloe Lula, who jumped into her Electro influences to bring to life this antagonistic theme: sober & frenzied, gloomy & upbeat, introspective & disturbed… “Neu Elektro” is definitely a piece that strikes the right chords when it comes to creating new and perennial dance floor memories.
