Darin Epsilon welcomes Trilucid for the 52nd release on Perspectives Digital, which was recently nominated for Breakthrough Label of 2017 in DJ Mag’s Best of North America Awards.  The London based duo of Andy MacDougall and Hilton Caswell teamed up in 2013 after a series of successful solo projects and are currently residents of the Gallery Club at Ministry of Sound.  Together they’ve showcased their pristine style on top labels such as Toolroom, Anjunabeats, Perfecto, Coldharbour, Flashover, and Black Hole Recordings.

For their first EP on Perspectives, Trilucid combine the groove of Progressive House with emotionally charged melodies to craft the perfect summer release.  The warm bassline in ‘Endless Moment’ is layered with hypnotic vocals and delicate, breezy melodies, while ’Twist’ earns its name with playful keys on top of galloping bass and reverberating stabs.  With a top notch debut and solid relationship with the industry’s leading imprints, the two are no doubt quickly headed down the road towards superstardom.

Berlin based DJ/producer and classically trained pianist Martin Roth has been receiving critical acclaim and praise since being named ‘Beatport Star of 2009’ alongside Eric Prydz and Deadmau5, as well as three nominations at the annual Beatport Awards.  He has smashed the Beatport charts numerous times with releases on Anjunadeep, Sudbeat, Global Underground, Black Hole, and Parquet Recordings.  Martin’s masterful remix of ‘Endless Moment’ brings a darker and more intense edge to round out the package, and solidifies his reputation as being amongst the industry’s elite producers.

As the dust still settles on his and his band's immensely detailed and provocative audio/visual album ‘Human’, and crowds around the world still recover from their legendary Henry Saiz & Band live shows, it’s safe to say that 2018 has been Henry Saiz’s most accomplished and creatively fulfilling year to date. Fittingly entitled ‘A Walk Through The Haze’, Henry’s first tracks on the label since 2015instantly summon the highly cosmic, utterly enveloping signature that secured him such a sweet spot in the first place.

Emotional, unpredictable and splashed with powerful tones and colours; on each cut there’s a clear point where you think you’ll know where he’s going before boom: he takes a sudden turn and brings on a completely different trip. The stunningly mind melting breakdown of ‘Claustrum’, the darker, rolling technoid textures on the payoff of ‘The Arch' and finally the sudden island-bound ripples that flutter out of the gurgling bass on the finale ‘The Hunt’ are just three examples...

Detailed, provocative, creatively fulfilling... Saiz really is in his own lane right now.

There's some DJ sets that feel like you step right into the zone from the moment you mix in your first track, and those sets feel damn good.  This was one of those.  Big thank you's to everyone who was there for this stellar night of music, which started with my Chicago brother-in-arms, Duke Shin, continued with me, and culminated with a true masterclass treat of a set from the one and only H.O.S.H.! RJ Pickens - Live At Spybar CHI - 09Aug2019 [supporting Set For HOSH]

The mighty Ejeca reveals his latest EP on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth. Hot off the heels of his chart-topping single ‘Ekstac’, the Belfast born groovemonger delivers yet again with this thought-provoking four-track EP.

Kicking off with ‘Everglade’, where slow-building arpeggios set the pace for a dramatic combination of fluid sounds that bud and flower into a momentous dancefloor moment. Eastern flutes echo over rich synth chords and intricate drum patterns in a minimalistic yet awe-inspiring opening track.

The heavyweight kicks of ‘Your Mind’ deliver the damage from the offset. Here Ejeca fuses in a heavily edited vocal line across a perplexing synth line and the two blend over the rhythms in a twist of blissful elation.

‘Artemis’ channels true techno ideals throughout its five-minute lifeline. The racing 808 hats and pounding toms roll across a vast chasm that paves the perfect path for the steadily building synth lines that drift in over the top.

Final track ‘Diskord’ brings faster tempo rhythms where hard panning chords and a meaty kick drum offer a firm backbone for the trippy sonics that feature across this ingenious techno cut. Whispering French spoken word over a blisteringly crisp 909 drum groove fly in at lightspeed and leave absolutely no prisoners.

Didi + Ping is excited to introduce his freshman take on dance music to Rocky View Records.  “Buffalo Jump” is an elemental piece, capturing the spirit of the wild, unpopulated lands of North America, as witnessed by Paleo-American settlers, at least 12,000 years ago.  The song marries the spiritual serenity of the continent with the ferocity of those that inhabit it.  A celestial flute soothes the listener, while vigorous hand drums knock with energy and serve as a reminder to stay wary in these untamed lands.

A newcomer to the dance music scene, Didi + Ping draws on his reverence for the cosmos when creating. His birthplace in the Rocky Mountain Foothills of Canada surrounded him with vistas of unending grasslands, deep forests, and majestic mountain peaks, imbuing him with both fear and wonder. It’s his unabashed curiosity of the unknown that drives him; indeed, his songs will always carry that reckless spirit of adventure. Mystical soundscapes, intimate melodies, and thunderous percussion reign supreme in his world, reflecting the awe-inspiring scenery he grew up in.
