Maestro Ennio Morricone composed Chi Mai in 1971 for the Italian movie Maddalena (Chi Mai means Who Ever in Italian). It was also the soundtrack of the beautiful ending of 1981 French film Le Professionnel starring Jean-Paul Belmondo who insisted on reusing this music. Chi Mai was also reused in some other movies and TV series and is part of French pop culture thanks to a memorable dog food TV ad for Royal Canin, where the music is playing while a dog is running in slow motion.

The piano is a Klavins Una Corda 64-key upright with felt.
